Tell us about a trip, whether beer centered or not, that you took overseas and ended up bringing back a nice haul. What country were you in Was there a specific beer you were eyeing Did you pack an empty bag to put the whalez in? Did you leave your clothes in another country (I forced my gf to throw out her shoes once, eek!) Any bad experiences bringing it back to the country/ breaking? Did you leave a whale behind that you for some reason had in your grasp but couldn't bring back. Any Tips Post a picture of your haul.
I lived in Austria for a while back in 2012. I didn't bring home any whalez, but I brought home as many of my favorite local beers as I could fit in my bags. I went to Austria with 1 checked bag and I came home with 2 as a result of my beer purchases. All in all, probably about 20-25 .5L cans/bottles. I was worried about them breaking, but I was lucky and had no problems. That was my biggest haul in a single trip. I have also flown home with beer, wine, and spirits from Portland, Croatia, France, Bosnia, and Germany on other trips. Never had any breakage. I just meticulously wrap every bottle individually with clothes, newspaper, or whatever else I have. Then I wrap the already wrapped bottles with more clothing. I generally put a sweater or something thicker between the wall of the bag and the beer to give a little extra cushion. And yes, I have left many things behind to make room for my beverages.
