    Hey guy,
thanks in advance for any help.

I am into Boston Logan Airport on Feb 23rd, and back out on the morning of the 25th (so, really I do have two nights)

Last time I was there I visited the Publik House in Brookline, and loved it. This time, however, i'll only have time to visit a bottle shop or two. So, I wanted to ask a couple of questions:
    1) A Tuesday and possibly Wednesday night, are there any deliveries I should look out for?
    2) Is Trillum easy to get a hold of in the area? Heady? Lawsons?
    3) Given that I'm into and out of Logan, with meetings in Waltham, what bottle shop (s) are a must?
    4) What other breweries from up there should I look to grab a bottle or two from to take home with me?

Thank you again to all who reply

What time do you get into Boston on the 23rd? Trillium is open 4-7:30 at their Boston location and would be a pretty easy stop if you are driving from Logan to Waltham. I would check their schedule regardless as a stop at either of their locations whenever you can swing it would probably yield the best beer you are going to find overall, accounting for how much high quality stuff they are offering across various styles at one time lately.

You won't find Heady or Lawson's for sale.

Other Boston area Breweries to look for would be Night Shift and Jack's Abby.

Someone else can probably provide better advice on bottle shops as I am north of the city and not really familiar with what is around Waltham.

Thanks, man. My flight lands in Boston at 5.45 so I could try and hit Trillium's Boston location for sure (assuming nothing funky with delays, getting my lugage, and car...it could be tight, but if no I could have time the next night to try again)

What other locations does Trillium have?

    Thanks

Yeah Canton might be a little bit farther in terms of miles, but possibly easier as it is more of a straight shot and has such easy parking. The Boston location is right in the middle of the city so I guess it depends on how comfortable you are with navigating that situation. Either way I'd advise using Waze or Google Maps for navigation. If you decide to stop in Boston the no-brainer guaranteed parking solution is the Stillings Street garage. It's $5 for I think 30 minutes which is always enough time for me to stop into Trillium and get whatever I want. It's down a side street (Stillings Street, naturally) right across from Trillium.

Also there is Fort Point Market next door to Trillium which usually has a good selection. Check their twitter for their recent stock updates https://twitter.com/FortPointMarket

And then next door on the other side of Trillium is Row 34 which has good seafood and a good beer selection http://row34.com/ (scroll all the way down to find their beer menu).

I don't live in Mass, but it seems crazy to think that Canton could be easier or quicker to get to. Fort Point is literally 3 miles from the airport and, to me, one of the easiest places to get to in the city. There are lots of meters and a parking garage right across the street. I have found no lines the last couple times I have gone as the Canton location has relieved a lot of that congestion (I assume). If you enjoy great beer then I certainly advise making Trillium your top priority.

    Waltham - Gordon's on Main

    Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont.

    Marty's in Newton.

Of those three I would prioritize Craft Beer Cellar. Both Belmont and Newton short car drive / Uber from Waltham.

For Trillium go to Fort Point. It is the first exit from Logan after going through the tunnel. You will be in and out before you know it.

Craft beer cellar also has a Newton location not far from Marty's.

i think Bobby At gordon's on main has a fresh and curated selelction. Also go have a beer at the Gaff and then get some charcuterie across the street at the Back Room

Here's what you should do, especially since you have a car:

    • Trillium in Canton
It will be a 20 minute drive (with light traffic) and well worth checking out

Then you should consider these three shops:
    • Gordon's Fine Wines & Liquors (Main Street, Waltham)
    • Marty's (Washington Street, Newton)
    • Craft Beer Cellar (Leonard Street, Belmont)
Lastly you should try and have a beer or three at the Gaff on Moody Street in Waltham. Great spot and right across the street from it is Moody's Delicatessen which is also quite amazing.

    Enjoy!

Another vote for Trillium and Ft Point Market. Not sure where in Waltham your meetings will be but for package stores Gordon's has a nice selection though is a little pricy.

Trillium Canton does have a parking lot and tasting room (2oz samples). The 4-5 times I have been not all the offerings are available for sample. But always have had at least 4 beers to sample.

Not too far from Trillium is Castle Island in Norwood. They offer 16oz cans fresh from tap room. I believe they have 4-5 offerings now. All solid.

Parking in Fort Point, especially during business hours is tough as hell and not worth it. Canton is a shorter drive than going to Boston, has the same if not better selection and a ton of parking

That is the perfect plan if your drive to/from Logan does not intersect with Trillium's Fort Point location hours, or if you run out of time to do it that way. Keep in mind that you will not want to drive from Waltham to Canton and back during rush hour, which lasts from roughly 3-6:30 PM. If you leave Waltham at 6:30, you will have an easy drive to Canton but you may not make it in time for samples (which close 30 minutes before the shop, i.e. 7PM not 7:30PM). You will be there on Tuesday and Wednesday, when Trillium is not open for lunch hours.

And if you do end up going to Trillium's Canton location instead of Fort Point, 2nd MVP09's Castle Island shoutout. Generous tasters and cans are easy to bring home!

Thank you all so much. If the Canton drive is easy, and looking at the times I land/get out of meetings, I'm thinking I'll head to Canton and then work my way back to Waltham via the beer stores mentioned. And then stop at the Gaff and get some meat across the road...
    Cheers lads.

Unless you aren't used to city parking at all, I think this is actually bad advice. Parking in that area is one of the easiest places in Boston to park and 20 minutes is pretty optimistic to get to Canton unless you're traveling at midnight. Factor in a great restaurant/ beer bar(Row 34) next door and Fort Point Market on the other side and I think it's a far more worthwhile destination. If you're the type that doesn't like to parallel park or get's stressed out parking in the city than I concede Canton is the better option.

I would recommend using Google Maps or something similar to get to LogMeIn on Summer Street. Parking in a metered spot and walking down the "secret stairs":

Walking directions which also show Fort Point Market and Row 34:

I have to agree with @ChrisMyhre about Fort Point. Once your'e settled in Waltham then Canton is probably the place to go. But coming from Logan at 5:45 I'd rather pull my own eyes out than drive to Canton if I didn't otherwise have to. That stretch from Logan to the route 93/95 split near Canton is easily in the running for the worst stretch of rush hour road in the state.

You're going to hit major traffic any direction you go from Logan at around 6:00, so might as well hit the place that's only a couple miles away (Fort Point). You could then sit and have a couple nice beers next door at Row 34 and wait for the traffic to die down before you head to Waltham (which is no picnic of a drive at 6:00 either). Parking will be easy (in city terms) in that window of time when people have left work but the night timers haven't come in yet.

I would love to see anyone get to Trillium Canton from Logan at 6pm on a weekday in 20 min. 93 is a bitch and she will not let you go.

Yeah I don't know why anyone is suggesting Canton. If you're already in Boston it's really crazy, and even from Waltham it's unlikely to be easier. I don't know if people are just unwilling to walk five minutes or what but parking near Trillium/Fort Point is nowhere near the hassle it's made out to be.

Also, if you're around Fort Point and you have the time, Night Shift's tap room is great and most nights there's a good food truck there as well.
