Hey everyone, pulled the trigger last night as jetblue had a good deal for a RT ticket to Cleveland from Boston (March 30-31). Just looking for suggestions in the immediate Cleveland area. We won't have a car but will Uber it around a bit.

We'll obviously be hanging at Great Lakes, Fat Head's, & Market Garden Brewery. We'll have time to fit in a few more places. Anything new?

Welcome to Cleveland! New & Noteworthy I'd say Platform is a great option, Butcher & Brewer if you're downtown, and Brick & Barrel in the flats. If you're close to Fatheads you should make a pit stop at the Brew Kettle as well. Cheers!

Brew Kettle if it's not too far to Uber.

Tremont Taphouse is near GLBC and usually has one of the best draft lists in town, so I suggest swinging by there at some point.

Fat Head's is the only one of those three worth a long visit. Great Lakes is old news and Market Garden is boring and inconsistent; you should be in-and-out of those two in 30 mins each.

The suggestions above are right-on. I'd hit up (in order):
    -Fat Heads
    -Brew Kettle
    -Tremont TapHouse
    -Platform
    -Town Hall

Could spend a few hours at each of those places.

My team in CLE has been limited...but Fat Heads is worth it, as is the Brew Kettle. What's great about BK: the food is great, and they have a great taplist featuring beers that I would guess you can't get in Mass. Also, if you have time...go to Melt

Great Lakes is still definitely worth a stop.

Other than what's been mentioned, Buckeye Brewing Beer Engine and their tasting room, Tapstack, aren't terribly far. Haven't been to Buckeye lately but they usually have a few good house beers on tap.

If you are there on Sunday, take a longer trip out to willoughby brewing. They are having the nut smasher release. You won't be able to get a bottle but it will be on draft.

I don't recommend using Uber...just use a legit cab service

If it was me I'd go straight to Fat Heads in North Olmstead for lunch and beers. Then hit up some of the other places on the list and then do lunch at The Brew Kettle Thursday.get a solid base to enjoy beers off of the rest of the day Wednesday with a Headwich then head back downtown to hit up west 25th where great lakes is.

Also Townhall is within walking distance of great lakes and has a great taplist! http://www.townhallohiocity.com/mobile/brews/

You're right. I guess I shouldn't look at this while working, I'll misread it.

Others are spot on. If you're going to be in Ohio City, GLBC, Market Garden, and Townhall are all within a minute walk of each other. Bar Cento and Nano Brew are also right there. Market Garden has pretty good food, would recommend over GLBC. Platform is a must. It's just down the road but you won't want to walk. From Ohio City, hit an Uber 5 minutes to Tremont and hit Barrio for grub (amazing tacos) and Tremont Tap House. You won't want more than this for one day. Fat Head's and Brew Kettle will be plenty for their own separate day (about 15 minutes apart). Both have top notch grub and huge tap lists, including a fair offering of guest beers. Downtown, Butcher and Brewer is solid and Portside is decent but they're a bit out of your way from the previous spots. I would make them a last option if time permits. Now that I'm writing this, I live 15 minutes from these places and I've never had 2 bad ass beer days like this. Have fun, cheers!!!

Uber is the only option for Cleveland. I use it all the time and never had a problem beyond a navigationally-challenged driver.

Also the avg wait for an Uber driver is 5min, especially if you are in CLE, Ohio City, Tremont, Gordon Square & Lakewood. Also, the price is cheaper. I am shocked cab companies still exist...

Ok back to beer! Fat Heads(both spots, North Olmsted and Middleburg Hts) and Brew Kettle are musts. But they are not immediate CLE. But still, musts!! Then just venture around Downtown, Ohio City and Tremont. So many great places to eat and drink. Throw a stone and you will find great food. I guarantee it! As for breweries in those areas...GLBC, Market Garden, Nano, Platform, Butcher and the Brewer, Brick and Barrel and Portside. Come to your own conclusions on what is good and what is not. They all are worth a trip. But seriously, enjoy CLE! I know I do. It has come a long way over the last 5-10 yrs. So many great places to dine in at, hang out at and taste amazing beer at! Cheers!

When I go to Cleveland I rarely leave Ohio City. Very progressive area, all the bars have great tap lists and there are now 4 breweries. ABC the tavern would be a good place to end the night, not sure where you are staying but check out The Cleveland Hostel.

With that said, Fatheads is a must! Great food and great beer. The Brew Kettle is okay but I wouldn't go out of your way. Great Lakes never has great beers on tap, Market Garden is a fun hip club type place and NanoBrew is a place I would hang.

I think everyone here has named the best places to visit in Cleveland. I'd pick from what has been mentioned. Only want to point out Fat Heads has 2 locations here. The brewpub in North Olmsted (opens at 11 AM) with full service menu. And the brewery in Middleburg Hts (opens at 4 PM) with limited food menu inside the brewery.

I personally prefer the brewery as its much more chill compared to the brewpub. It's also located less than 10 minutes from the airport.

I get that Great Lakes is a staple of Cleveland, but IMO they have gone down the shitter the past few years and isn't really worth a stop unless you want to grab dinner there because the food is excellent. Fat Heads and Brew Kettle should be mandatory stops over GL. Platform is good too. I wouldn't waste too much time at Market Garden and if you're looking for a beer bar with a ton of options I'm not sure that Town Hall can be beat which is right next door to it and both are a minute walk from GL.

I find Great Lakes food overpriced and average, but love the beer at the pub and the ambiance. Different strokes and all that shit, but it's a place most out of towners would enjoy.
