So lately I've been noticing that I can't read an article about the beer industry without reading the word "passion" over and over again. This is not meant to be a jab at anybody in the industry as I respect everyone's "affinity" for craft beer, but am I alone in feeling like its slung around a little too often?? I mean, there's a dictionary/thesaurus for a reason. What other words/terms you guys feel are being overused?

Also, "citrusy" is probably the most overused general descriptor of IPAs. JMHO.

"Palette" and "pallet" are definitely overused. Unless someone is talking about a beer having a palette of flavors or cases of beer sitting on a pallet.

This. I literally talk about head potential and retention in every single review. Just my dedication to being thorough, definitely overused though.

    Epic

I automatically have less respect for people when they use that word to describe anything (unless they are talking about the Iliad and/or the Odyssey).

    Overused and annoying:

    - mind-blowing

    - anything related to beer culture or personalities that is deliberately misspelled and used semi-sarcastically or not... such as: whalez (I just threw up in my mouth)
