Damn....I knew it was coming but still hurts. Did he mention if they were going to do some sort of alternative? GFTW package to-go/digital toast?

Question- is there any 1-off or seasonal beer either A) recently released B) soon to be released or C) usually released in early-mid autumn, which may be directly or reminiscently a spring/summer type beer?

this may not be articulated well.

I want to pick up a few bottles or cans of an ale that isn’t in the whole fall/winter subcategory of flavor/color profiles. Something that isn’t a year-round offering. But that is well established or regarded- may be tougher to ping a 1-off in this light.

The only beer from Oxbow that I tend to think about come the later parts of the year is Liquid Swords. It’s different year to year, though. I believe last year was a dark farmhouse 2018 was blonde, though there’s a chance those could be flipped.

I just looked at their IG to confirm and LS2019 was early November. They did a wet hop farmhouse ale in the October. BoBasa is on their site now (which is making me consider a trip in the near future). Gotta start mapping out that cold weather beer inventory.

The “dark, strong, and smoked farmhouse” blend carries a little bit of solace, to the abandoned GFTW 2020 -

All over this. I loved that first Goods blend they did awhile back.

Okay, so now I see a great excuse to head back up. Now, let's get some Ghoulship and MtL going and I can make one big swing up and down 95.

Well, they just released their Paloma Daydream recently. https://oxbowbeer.com/beer/paloma-daydream/ The whole Surfer series is pretty Spring/Summer IMO.

Fall is the season to throw on some scented candles, fire up some Joni Mitchell, and drink some Sap Haus & GftW. Malt-forward beers and sweet melodies. Insert smoke (in the beer or, well, otherwise) and we Gucci.

(Is this the first time in recorded history where Joni Mitchell and the word "Gucci" have been used in such a close proximity?)

    Anyone been to Portland lately?

In continuing with our Saturday “field trips” I think we are doing some parks and lighthouses along the coast. Figured we’d do Cape Elizabeth and work our way south.

That said, Oxbow is the only definite brewery, but I’m actually more interested in Highroller. Anyone know if it’s open? Outside? We could always do food trucks in the city or Duckfat at Oxbow.

Also, what’s the Substance situation at Bissell? Could I walk in and grab a four pack? It’s maybe the only beer of theirs I like and I want some.

Bissell is doing pre-orders for same-day curbside pick-up. Worked well when I went a few weeks ago. You can also drive-thru and order on the spot without ordering ahead. https://bissellbrothers.com/links/

Highroller has an outdoor setup with picnic tables. If the line is long you can put your name down and they'll text you when the table is ready.

Is that the place near the high school?
Awesome, if so. My brother lives right around the corner.

You got it. I was there this summer (with -covid test in hand) and picked up a bunch of surf casting and substance. Great lobster rolls there, too..
