PA home brewer ISO great brut IPA examples

    Hello Cali friends in the Bay area,

    I am a brewer in Pennsylvania interested in brewing a brut IPA, but we have no authentic examples locally that I can find. I don't want to make this beer without first tasting the real deal, so could any of you point me to a great local example of the style available in bottles or cans? I have a buddy near SF who can get it to me, I just need to point him to where to get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm psyched about trying out this beer!

    There's only three which have ever been canned, as it's a new style even here.

    Temescal / Cellarmaker / Social - Three Cheers
    Seven Stills / Social - Caviar Dreams
    Alvarado Street - Champagne Hopi

    The latter two of these were released in the past month so they're probably still available, but only in very specialty stores.

    Most CA releases are brewery-only, so you could most definitely pick them up there. But it just so happens that both of these have some very limited distro too.

    Caviar Dreams -
    Seven Stills - 3 locations in SF
    K&L Wines - SF and Redwood City ( http://www.klwines.com/p/i?i=1359708 )
    (Not sure where else)

    Champagne Hopi -
    Alvarado Street - Salinas and Monterey taprooms, but both far away from Bay Area

    I believe Green Cheek has crowlers available of 'Scratch our Minds'... think I saw 'em yesterday when I visited.

    There is also Brother Jordan by Laughing Monk Brewing in S.F. I also picked another great one up this weekend from Flatland Brewing Company called Cellos and Vespas and Brut IPA. These are both in 16oz. cans and are at Bay Area shops right now.

    Some places where I have picked up Brut IPAs:

    Concord - The Hop Grenade, Monument Wine & Spirits
    Walnut Creek - OL Beercafe & Bottleshop
    Berkeley - Berkeley Bowl West

    All of these places regularly post what they get in to Instagram.
