I think the deal with this is it is VERY light carbonation. I went up to NoDa to pick up my replacement bottles (and they couldn't have been nicer about it by the way) and they poured me a free draft for my troubles. It was way better than the uncarbonated bottle I had tried earlier but even so there was no head on it straight out of the tap. I have since opened one of my replacement bottles and it was similar to what I had on tap. More carbo than my original bottles but still very light and no head, just a few bubbles. I still enjoyed it and look forward to opening the next bottle but it would be way better with more carbonation. I am hoping the bottle conditioning should have carbonated them more by now but I think regardless you will never get a thick head and the usual carbo from this beer. For that reason I do have to downgrade this release. It's a shame because they seem to have nailed the malt/hop bill on this DIPA.

I picked up a bottle from Sam's in Durham on 11-29-12, it was very good, had a nice head.

It sounds like the carbonation issue is pretty much taken care of. You guys outside of Charlotte are in for a treat!

I picked up a couple bottles from Common Market South End last night. The one I drank was definitely carbonated. Maybe even bordering on overly carbonated.

The funny thing was, when I took them to the register, I was told the bottles were flat and they were supposed to take them off the shelf (guess they missed a few) but I told them I'd take the risk and buy them anyway. I assume they had gotten complaints and there are still some flat bottles out there.

Just opened my second bottle to drink while watching the game. Flat as a pancake. Oddly enough, I may actually prefer the version with low carbonation.

Yeah my replacement bottles have been hot or miss. The one tonight, flat like hop water.

It's ok, I appreciate them replacing my original bottles but at this point I'm chalking them up as a loss.
