Visiting for the holiday weekend and just wanted to get some locals input on some stores with a great beer selection. I was told Coastal Wine was great. Any recommendations for this area with about 30miles?

I can confirm Coastal in Branford is great. SeaSide Wine and Spirits in Old Saybrook* is a solid one too, and it's closer to Westbrook. I've also heard Hamonasset Package Store in Madison is pretty decent.

If you are looking for stuff to consume this weekend (or you drove), go to Steady Habit in Haddam (check website or call for hours this weekend). Awesome beer and people. They are attached to Tony's which is a pretty good bottle shop.

Hamonasset in Madison should get the job done.

Check out haywire burger bar or westbrook lobster, both have nice taplist. I am not sure about hammonasset, but madison wine exchange has a nice selection.

Given that you are looking for stores not beer bars, I second the motion for Steady Habit Brewing in Haddam as it is excellent and the attached bottle shop is solid too.

Hey thanks for all the great suggestions. Ending up going to SeaSide and they had a great selection.
Going out to catch some breweries today. Looking at Beer'd and New England Brewing Co. Any others worth checking out?
