Has anyone ever had a beer destroy their palate after one sip? It just happened to me...

The first sip was bursting with fruity hop juice and after that nothing.

It is an IPA. I dont want to trash anyone's beer on the Internet but I was curious if anyone else had experienced this.

Yes, I had infected beers do this to me on two separate occasions.

I'm guessing Stone and Green Glash would eat up this kind of praise.

Trash the beer? I think most of us would line up to try it with that description. What was it?

Short's Ale la reverend was like that for me. First sip was fruity and complex, everything after that was just bitterness. 2nd one I had a few days later was more what I expected. ??

Devil Dancer does that for me. I did a side-by-side with two vintages once and couldn't distinguish between the two after a few sips of each. That beer is like Chris Brown to my tongue's Rihanna.

The Bruery Tart of Darkness did this to me. I didn't complain.

Drink a Heady Topper then try and drink any other IPA after it. The Heady will make any other taste like malt bomb.

FFF Arctic Panzer Wolf wipes my mouth out. Dreadnaught does not.

I agree, then I had it next to a Kern River Citra!! Now Heady seems like another awesome IPA but nothing more!!

Any of the big DIPAs that have a huge hop/honey thing. Just ruins me.

Can't say it's ever happened. Heady Topper or some HF DIPAs are probably the closest, but that takes a whole can/growler.

When I first started drinking IPAs Ruination and Hopsickle were the closest things to that.

    Ruination. Very aptly named beer.

Ruination 10 did it for me. I had a 60 minute after drinking the 10 and it was like drinking water. I loved it
