I get LTS pretty regularly due to my extreme love affair with American Hops. Saisons, sours, wilds, and other no/low hop beers for a week or two reset the palate.

Ever wonder if you just got caught up in some kind of hype, that in the end, just doesn't really satisfy?

I have a ton of DIPAs for beach week, I've avoided hoppy stuff for about 2 months, Palate fatigue is very real. Miler Lites and Ultras have sufficed, with a rare HT and a BCBS.

please tell me that the US hasnt started to do imperial berliners...by definition; a berlinerweiss is very low in abv.

I might try this. I've always been intrigued by this beer but I've just never got around to buying it.

I am aware of the typical abv in a Berliner Weisse. I wouldn't be suprised if someone made a big abv one though.
Here are a few that are higher than normal:

I was in the same boat. Saw Oarsman all the time, but didn't try it until recently since I've been getting into this style.

Next time I do a tasting/bottleshare I think I'll use it as a cleanser between beers.

I had a Avery 19 the other day and it seemed to help. Devil dancer destroyed my palate

the way he worded it, "a low abv berliner" made it seem as if it was not the norm...given the examples he listed, seems as if there are several "imperial berliners".

forgot about the southampton, it was pretty solid and at double the normal berliner abv.

Fritz Bream's 1809 Berliner Weisse. I may be repeating old posts but this beer does exactly that. It's quick and clean on the palate and really does refresh. It's poised and subtle, tart but not really sour.
