So I was at a local bottle shop over the weekend and found some 4 packs of Palate Wrecker and Hoptimum!!!!!

Then I thought gee... these might be getting a bit old but I scarfed them up anyway. So I guess my question is are these beers beyond their time?

    TIA

    Ed

I've had both recently. Both are excellent and should remain so as long as they received halfway decent storage

Whenever I wonder that (i.e., every time I buy beer), I check the beers' dates codes.

    See above.

Why don't you try them and let your taste-buds decide instead of having someone tell you what you should think?

I had both last week. The Hoptimum is still potent as hell with the hops. I'm guessing this one lasts a while. The PW (my favorite GF offering ever) is still drinking well.

Does Green Flash date bottles now?

They apparently just started dating the bottles after long promising it (previously the cases were coded), but my answer was generic rather than brand specific - if there's no date code or it's older than what I prefer, the beer stays on the shelf. Just seems a better method than buying first and then worrying about it later.

Multiple batches of Hoptimum were made this year, so it's likely fresher than you think. Palate Wrecker came out a while ago in DIPA terms, but I had one last week and it was still delicious.

Just had a Hoptimum I've been sitting on for a couple months. Still the most bitter thing I've had in the past year.
    They will both be fine.
