Also, any of the ESBs may be worth a shot...

I believe Summit distributes to Missouri. If this is true, you should try their Extra Pale Ale. It technically falls under the English Pale Ale category, and it's very well balanced and the hops are more earthy/floral than say those used in SNPA.

I have not had the pleasure of drinking a Schlafly Pale Ale but it does indeed read like a very tasty English Pale Ale. A good suggestion!

    Pale Ale

    Available year round

    ABV: 4.4% | IBU: 25

    • Appearance: Amber red, bright
    • Process: Classic English
    • Hops: East Kent Goldings, Northdown, Pilgrim (UK)
    • Grains : Pale, Caramel
    • Yeast: London Ale
    • OG: 11.8
    • SRM: 13.5
Our flagship Pale Ale is a smooth, balanced, copper-colored session beer with mildly spiced flavor and aroma from the East Kent Goldings hops. The bready, lightly caramel malt complements the hint of fruitiness contributed by the London Ale yeast, making it satisfying and authentic; the perfect flagship beer for Schlafly

    Cheers to you!

+1, I really enjoy the Whale Tail by Cisco. Definitely not a very hoppy beer, just a very clean pale with a touch of hop that is easy to drink.

I think Anchor Steam may be a good one to stick your nose in. Not truly a pale ale but a blending of yeast and styles that comes close to the flavor profile to an English style pale ale. And a good intro to other styles.

Paul's Pale Ale from Springfield Brewing Company is good.

When I don't want a hoppy ale I reach for Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale, it leans more towards the English style. It should have distribution in your state.

Shoals is amazing English style pale ale and I second this. For some reason we get Smuttynose in MD, but I haven't seen Shoals in over a year anywhere. What's up with that?
