Been in Australia visiting family these past two weeks and there are Pale Ale's and low ABV beers EVERYWHERE!!!! Was a nice change from all the Double IPA's I drink when I'm back home in Chicago. If you want Pale Ale's visit Australia.

The Beer Temple is putting together a cool event to find the best Pale Ale available for purchase in Chicago (it does not have to be a Chicago brewery). Looking forward to the blind tasting results.

I suspect fist city will have a strong showing. Everytime I have one I am reminded that I should drink it more often.

once they announce the entrants, we should make our predictions for who makes the finals

Hop Butcher dropped another PA this past week called Celery Salt. Notes of lemon with a touch of white grape with some decent hop bite.

The Beer Temple has unveiled three of the six finalists for their "Perfect Pale Ale" contest so far. If anyone wishes to vote on the six finalists as part of the final judging on the 26th Aug @ The Beer Temple, you can purchase a ticket ($20 for unlabeled samples of the six finalists) on their website at https://www.craftbeertemple.com/perfect-pale-ale-finals-event.html

Charlatan I can see, but Grid feels less like a traditional pale and more like a light fruity ipa.

The Beer Temple posted the remaining finalists. There is of course at least one notable absence. Curious to see who wins from this list in the blind vote.

If one of those didn’t make the list, I would have been completely shocked.

I’d love to see a list of entrants and packaging dates. This finalist list is a bit odd

Brought a fresh 4pk of charlatan over to a cookout last Sunday. It was enjoyed by all. Excellent, slightly old school hop profile but modern malt and bitterness. Feel like fist city drinkers would also love this one

guess I’ll go try some fresh Cozmo. I’m curious if they’ve updated the recipe in the past few years
