But only shortly after was the shutdown of travel from China, for which he was heavily criticized.

These issues have to be dealt with in real time. Looking back and wishing and hoping (and demonizing) is not productive.

There was smoke, and medical experts throughout the world and in his own administration were telling him that a fire was coming. He chose not to listen and we are paying an incredibly steep price as a result. Not only did he not listen, but he stated things that simply were not true. Things like this is no worse than the flu, we will go from 15 cases to 0, the cure can't be worse than the disease. He was a lone voice saying things like this while experts he should have been listening to we're telling a different story. The result is a lot more people will get sick and die than needed to. This is not an administration caught off guard by sneak attack on Pearl harbor. This is and administration that willfully ignored countless warnings for fear of what it would do to the stock market.

So the tribalist folks are the ones agreeing with common decency- gotcha. I’m cool with that

Then let’s look at what’s happening right now. A nationwide “stay at home” should be mandated. We’re prolonging the pandemic and the longer it goes on the more die. When a president declares a state of emergency it’s more than something to say to get the attention of the day’s news cycle. It’s supposed to set in motion plans to protect Americans, distribute supplies and people. When a president declares he’ll use the defense production act to move industry to produce needed supplies it’s more than something to say to get the attention of the day’s news cycle. It must actually be used.

Slippin Donnie’s mouthpieces like uncle Rushbo and hanity literally called a hoax for a couple weeks... and waaaaaaay too many of their sheep swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. It has, without uncertainty, resulted in increased infections and deaths.

Bloomberg News reported similar findings last week, noting, "After the H1N1 influenza outbreak in 2009, which triggered a nationwide shortage of masks and caused a 2- to 3-year backlog [of] orders for the N95 variety, the stockpile distributed about three-quarters of its inventory and didn’t build back the supply.”

A federally backed task force and a safety equipment organization both recommended to the Obama administration that the stockpile be replenished with the 100 million masks used after the H1N1 outbreak.

I notice no one criticizing the past admin for leaving the stockpile dry thus causing the shortage of supplies to begin with, I guess these tribal folks only see it one way.

    Who cares about Obama?
    He’s a chump too.

Sucks that people praise Slippin Donnie all day and blame the past for today’s problems... very naive

I am just amazed how there is a single focus of blame, just curious why no one mentions the facts is all. I think everyone involved with the shortage should get equal blame not just one person, so when folks do call out someone they should blame the past as well as the current. Joe Biden is running to be Prez, I have yet to hear one person ask him why he as VP never took this serious and demanded supplies to be replaced. I mean the man wants to be our leader, why is he given a pass. This is why the past is relevant, the man from the past wants to be the future. I don't want some guy in office who allowed this once, what faith should anyone have in him.

Shame on the previous administration for this lack of foresight. There is no reason why this country cannot be prepared for something like this.

Doubt Obama would have called it a hoax or had his mouthpieces do so lol...

Factually speaking- was the previous administration of the mind that H1N1 was a hoax? I honestly don’t recall..

He wants to be president but he is not president. The current president is the one under the microscope and rightfully so. Had he handled the situation with a steady resolve any of his predecessors could have mustered, he'd be well on his way to a landslide victory in November.

I agree 1000%. We should never be in this position nor should we outsource our meds to China like we are and have been. This country needs to take the wasted money we spend on war around the world and dump it into saving our own people who put their lives on the line to save us. Trillions should be spent on medical items and cures so when this day happens again we are ready. What we are all seeing is a shame, and to expose our medical staff and country like this is a dam shame. I put blame on the current and past for this, they all allowed it and now the people are suffering.
I just hope people see the issues for what they are, especially this year when we are looking at new leadership, we need people in office who are aware of the needs of all over the needs of BS like we have seen for a long long time.

Biden’s a chump too... potentially an even bigger clown than the conman that’s currently in office. At least Slippin Donnie can talk lol

    Too predictable.
    From your article:
His administration was made aware as far back as 2017 by Dr Fauci himself on the country’s diminished capacity to withstand an outbreak of this scale. What does he do? Exacerbate the problem by crippling or dismantling the agencies that would be responsible for resilience building.

I guess my fear is what choice do we have lol. I am not happy with any of them so it sucks.

What would be your thoughts on Mark Cuban or Gov. Cuomo? If they tossed in their hat would you think these guys could do a better job, I would roll with Cuomo actually I like how he has been handling this and I think he is well spoken and mindful of how he acts. I am not hip on Cuban but I think he would be valuable as a adviser.

I believe blame goes to current and past to be honest. Past let it fall and current never acted either, thus we are at today's mess.
I just want blame to go around for all involved is all, call everyone out so to say.

Find the quote where Trump called it a hoax. Like a lot of your posts on this, this is not correct.

Yep, I wish Cuomo would run honestly, on the Dem side of things he has shown true leadership, the two fools running now cannot hold a candle to him. He could dance around them any day of the week and people trust what he says, that says a lot. I am burnt out with Trump and want a clean start for the country. Sadly my hopes won't happen I bet. What blows me away is why can't we come up with people to run who actually are good lol. If the three in the race are our best we have holy cow are we screwed.
