A store near me has quite a few of these in stock...I love how it is drinking right now but at around the seven year mark, is there any point in cellaring it any longer?

Yes. It's one of the most under rated Quads available. Few people know about it so it sits around, which is fine, it can go several years easily. I'd put it on par with Abt 12 without question.

Close line the lot into your shopping cart and head for the cash register.
I also had a 750ml 2006 (Pannepot is MASSIVELY underrated) a few months and it was relatively youthful for its age. There are people everywhere hugely envious of your opportunity.

    They're like $7 each

Asking price on 2011 at my store was $6.49.

There is a store near me that has in stock lots, and I mean lots of Pannepot. Reserva, Grand Reserva, Old Monk's- they got it all. I will be pouring a 2011 tomorrow night for the Pats game. This will be my first try of a Pannepot- will I be in heaven?

Its my favourite quad, I prefer it to St Bernadus Abt 12, Rochefort 10 anf Westy 12.

Very recently loaded up on '05 '09 & '11 a local liquor store that was practically giving away. Not a bad one in the bunch! Drink up or keep siting on the. And if it's a store that's clueless, talk them down on the price for their "old beer"

Just opened a properly cellared 2007 tonight and I completely agree.

I have no chance for the "old beer" charade. I will, however, be picking a handful up to drink, cellar or trade

Question is, which did you prefer?

'05 was the clear winner in our tasting. That being said we didn't have 07, so couldn't tell you if those additional two years do anything.

But in the 6 or so bottles weve had of the 05 no signs of oxidation have shown so I don't think that's some you'll need to worry about too much if you want to hold those a bit longer

Georgia will no longer see De Struise thanks to Carlaken being bought out by Atlanta Beverage, and them dumping half the portfolio. So if you see any of their beers, that's it, they're no longer available. St. Somewhere also got the ax. Damn shame too.

Yeah its a serious bummer. I bought out this particular store that wasn't quite aware of what they had.

Oh yes. They're all outstanding but the Grand Reserva is just a tiny bit more spectacular.
