Ok, I have been working further and further into Belgians and then I cam across Pannepot. I like all the variants, but I am desperately searching for multiple Gran Reserva. I am wondering if it is still around in stores? I have yet to see it, but have seen the others. Cheers.

It was on the shelf in Colorado 6 months ago. 2005 grand reserva. 2009 reserva. 2010 pannepeut. 2010 pannepot. Good luck in your search. If all else fails just order from the Struise webshop or etregourmet.

Still have most of these in Fort Collins, including '05 Grand Reserva.

It's poking around, and still on the Struise site too. It's actually quite limited, and tasty, but for whatever reason most non-sour Belgian beers never seem to catch a seat on the hype train.

    Westy!

It was all over the place in the Bay Area about 5 months ago, but disappeared pretty quickly. I grabbed a few bottles, just had my last one a few days ago. Honestly, I think I like it less than regular pannepot. I'm not sure oak really adds to a quad.

Saw some bottles on a shelf in Westchester, NY as recently as two days ago.....$11.99.

    Pretty amazing beer.

You can order it online from Gordon's in Waltham MA and they should ship it to you. I can't recall seeing it other places around Boston besides them, but I'm sure there are a few spots.

Yeah, Westy is more the exception to the rule though.

Reserva is the oaked version. Grand Reserva is Brandy barrels. I'd probably say I prefer the regular to the Reserva, but the Grand Reserva is better than the regular (fresh). With age though, regular is sublime...

They only seem to have Reserva in stock.

There might be some confusion here - there are 3 distinct Pannepot bottled versions:

    - Pannepot
    - Pannepot Reserva (oaked, looks like same label but with word Reserva on it)
    - Pannepot Grand Reserva (Calvados barrel aged, black label)

(There's also a super rare Pannepot Wild)

Then there's also a Pannepeut, which is slightly different.

Well, Brandy is still an oak barrel, right? I got a ton of that oak harshness you can sometimes get with oak barrels (even non-virgin).

Yeah. I do remember the oak being there, but it took a backseat to the fruity alcohol of the brandy in my memory. Especially compared to normal Reserva, which is an oak bomb. Been a while since I had the GR though... good reason to crack one open this weekend...

Still seeing '06 reserva and the '11 pannepeut around. One of my favorite beers!

Good point. Only Reserva is listed online, but they have Grand Reserva (and regular Pannepot) on the shelves last time I was there and I would think it would be worth calling them. Their online stocking system is crap so I don't trust it one way or the other. They bought a ton of Pannepot for their tasting last fall and I think they still have quite a bit around.
