Parabajava... Yes please

Confirmed. I had it there on flight night.

 

Xantus ages amazingly.

 

Had it at Merkinfest and Im a FW fanboy but.... Parabajava is no BCBS or even Xantus IMHO. Total coffee bomb and lots of the parabola complexities are masked.

 

Only the first batch was Xantus which was put on tap during the Parabola release. Successive release are Parabola with El Diablo Coffee from Intelligentsia.

 

This is correct. That was just one old keg put on for the parabola release but a subsequent batch of several parabola barrels was infused with intelligentisa diablo coffee for a fathers day coffee beer event and the rest of the kegs have been trickling out since then. So now Parabajava is definitely a unique beer, whereas that first keg that sparked this thread was Black Xantus under the new name for already explained reasons.

When I spoke to Clay at 38 Degrees, I was told the same thing. David Walker was at the flight event, so I'm sure that's his source. The current Parabajava is not Xantus.

 

During flight night, David Walker stopped by our table on his way by to see what we were drinking and asked us if we'd tried Parabajava yet. He didn't mention anything about Xantus and all the flight/beer menus that night said Parabajava.

 

Yeah, that's what we're trying to say in the last 4 posts by sirtomtom, bulletrain76, and me is that the current Parabajava isn't Xantus. That's why David Walker didn't mention anything about Xantus because it's not!

This is actually an old thread from around the Parabola release when some people who had Parabajava back then, did actually get Xantus, thus the confusion.

 

So which was better, parabajava or parabaxantus?
