Parable Brewing Co.

I've defended these guys in the past with "give them a break" type comments, but this is indeed getting comical. I still wish them the best, selfishly, as once they get up and fully running, (or if they ...) they will be the closest brewery to my workplace.

 

Too many other good places to try to follow their shenanigan's...I'm out on these guys...

i'll just say this....coming from someone literally right around the corner....they gotta quit this one hitter saturday, close for a few weeks, open another saturday and repeat-cycle-thing they got going. reviews aren't great and location for what they're trying to accomplish isn't the greatest either. had high hopes but this is becoming a big bust.

 

Two Beers, both citra hopped.....was there a sale on citra Hops?

 

Looks like they may be steadying out. Yesterday they updated their hours of operation to include both Fridays and Saturdays. This, after the following post:

Article in the Courant states owners “have sunk about $500,000” into the brewery. I assume this refers to the old Top Shelf endeavor and the renovation/upgrade for Parable. Not an insignificant amount.

Also, “...they settled on the name, Parable, initially because every other name that Peterson though of was already taken.” Not the most romantic explanation. Next line does reference the story definition but the lead in was poor.

I’m going to try to stop in this weekend...

 

They had a lot to fix when Top Shelf left. It was a a disaster area. But, $500K? Don't think so.

The Courant article was great for marketing purposes. They spoke to a general community reporter that doesn't know a lot about beer.

 

Buying/installing a new 7bbl system can cost close to half of that, but I have no idea what else they've done.

Looks like the end of the road for Parable. Building they are in was sold and they are getting the boot. They are selling all of their equipment as they don't have the capital necessary to relocate.

From their social media:
"It’s extremely difficult to post this right now.....we are sad to say that building has been sold and that we are weeks away from closing our doors. When we have a definite date of closing we will share it with you, we are definitely still open until then so come out on the weekends still for sure. With all that said, our brewhouse and equipment is all for sale so if anyone is interested in purchasing it please email [email protected]"

 

as much as I wanted to go I never ended up going there at all. never heard any positives. Did however hit labyrinth a few times. That place place has a great atmosphere and average beer at best. Hoping they make it.

What’s happening to the indoor climbing space next door to Parable?

 

Feel very bad for Jon, he can't catch a break. He was on top of the scene as Steady Habit's brewer IMO.

 

There must be a moral in this story somewhere...
