Parabola 2014

Last years had a lot of heat, very uncharacteristic for Parabola. I hope it's back to being smooth again this year.

 

It has more alcohol this year so I doubt the heat is less. We shall see.

 

For anyone that had it how does it compare to last year?

 

i think this years is better than last years but very similar if that makes sense.

 

This years is very good..seems more mellow, but I never had found much heat since bottling.

 

this years tastes more roastier to me. not in a bad way. i feel like last years had more barrel characteristics (vanilla, toffee) but this is only based on 1 taster, and after having Stickee Monkee. look forward to further exploration

 

Is this all gone in San Diego? Or even out yet? I haven't seen it.

 

It hasn't been distributed widely yet.

 

It has hit a few smaller bottle shops in the north OC area yesterday. Distro to the larger stores like Bevmo might be today or next week. Start looking!

Oh noes! Only 3,500 cases of this years batch! Better run around like chickens with our heads cut off!

 

You joke but most of us have to bolt as soon as some of this stuff drops. You forget, there are many asshats out there buying up cases of this stuff for the sole purpose of reselling it. Who really needs 26 bottles of Parabola. I only mention it as that's what one liquor store owner told me yesterday....some dude called and wanted to buy 26 bottles of Parabola!!!!

I for one am greatly appreciative of those bottle shops that impose limits. It helps spread out and share the limited quantities of these beautiful elixirs.

 

A case of parabola is only 12 bottles and I would for sure like a case. A few years ago I got a case and drank 1 per month for the year. Many of us are not looking to re-sell just to drink.

 

I hear ya. I went to the release at FW and grabbed two cases, but cases are now 6 bottles. I grabbed a case for me and a case for my buddy's kid & his friends who are still deployed overseas.

I understand that there are times when some of us will purchase a little more than normal but I'm still very bitter towards those that burn us and inflate the $$$.

 

I hear you I went Hunahpu day in Florida and it was disgusting
People push ahead in line to buy beer and re-sell it right there.
The DB huna people bought case for $25 each and right out of line selling $40-45
and same with regular Huna got a case to re-sell.

 

I ended up buying a case at FW Feral One release, and it is six to a case. You know I'll still be picking up a couple of bottles when I see them around town because this beer and Hangar 24's Pug Cobra are my go to once-every-few-weeks power BA beers. Both very affordable as well. So gotta stock up for the year.
