Any sightings yet other than those aforementioned?

 

I don't need 26 bottles, and I am not going to buy 26 bottles, but do the math: it works out to a bottle of top flight barrel-aged imperial stout every other week until next year's version hits the shelves. You have to admit that sounds pretty damn good.

According to a so-so source, Bevmo's OC area stores will see this on April 1st. That's also 'April Fool's Day' so I don't really know what to make of that info....

 

Parabola hit BevMo's in the Bay Area in the last day or so. Got 2 last night. Keep an eye out.

 

Has this hit Whole Foods in So Cal yet?

This years is more chocolatey/fudgey with a lot more bourbon character and a fuller body. Less complex and more bold for sure. Excellent as always, ideally I'd like one in between the classic profile and this updated one. Seems to have moved in the direction of the BCBS realm. Not a bad thing, but i miss some of the complexity.

Van Ness sent me an email that it was back in stock at 4, checked at 645, already sold out.

 

Looks like it's available at Redwood City BevMo.

 

They were $19.52, including tax and whatnot. I left three on the shelf and there was a case, OF SIX (not 12) on the floor.

 

So when is this gonna hit the OC area??? I hear it hit LA on Thurs-Friday

 

I don't understand why Chicago has it already but not the whole state of CA.

 

This makes no sense to me at all. Maybe there are a few specialty stores there that had sources picking it up from the brewery and shipping it to directly to Chicago, but I cannot see how it would already be there from normal distribution sources.

Or is it Parabola 2013 they are seeing in Chicago?

 

2014. This wouldn't be the first time Chi saw FW beers before SoCal did.

 

The Bay Area has gotten some already. Some stores in SF and San Mateo county got it this week. I think Santa Clara County will get it next week.
