Parabola in Chicago

    While annoying at times I think the influx of Chicago beer drinkers is a good thing. Granted that guy drinking miller lite last year is now another guy fighting for the next limited release but they are also another fanatics to share stories and talk beer with. Another improvement is the emergence of great local beer that without the influx wouldn’t be sustainable. That former miller lite enthusiast is also adding to more availability of limited releases on tap.

    I think before this thread becomes yet another butt hurt fest we all should take some of the positives into account and not simply take the Chicago beer scene as a personal attack on your cellar but an ever growing stronger community. If the people making the beer can work together despite being competitors, why can’t your average beer geek share the same sense of community with their fellow drinker? Remember the Chicago beer scene started from organizing bottle shares, talking shop at local bars and camping out for no reason other than the company of other fans.

    Binny's on Grand does local delivery in the loop now. Too bad they don't deliver these hyped-up releases directly to my office door.

    I'm planning to check one or two places after work today, if I come across it, great! If not, I honestly don't care.

    In fairness to wf gc the beer guy said they were expecting it next week but it randomly showed up this morning. They also have behemoth, deths tar and abyss if anyone was looking

    Deth's Tar is a great beer as well and would be okay with one of those if I could not get a Parabola. Nothing wrong with supporting your local Brewerys like @Jimbobebop said.

    I wish they would bottle Café Deth. I preferred that to KBS and Parabola.
