Parabola in CO

Yeah, I blindly stumbled upon that too and got a 2012 bottle waiting in my fridge to be opened.

does firestone do sours? ive never been there so i dont know what their pilot batches are like, but for such a huge rep built on barrels... its about time to get down w/ the brett, lacto, pedio, etc, etc, AMIRIGHT?

They've been playing with some wild ales for a while, but hopefully Bottleworks is the first step to seeing some of them bottled for release.

 

FW brought a sour to the Rare Beer Tasting at the Wynkoop 2 years ago. It disappeared in roughly about 30 minutes and was wonderful while it lasted.

 

Qué lástima. Vámonos a Califas!

 

I've heard everything from "we're not bottling a sour for some time to come" to "it will be a regular annual release in the Proprietor's Reserve series this Fall." I trust the former more than the latter.

Patrick's in Greeley tapped 2013 Parabola last night at their Firestone tap takeover, and it's my favorite batch to date. Granted, I never had Batch 1 fresh, but this year's batch is excellent. Patrick's served small pours of the 2012 next to it, and I definitely preferred the fresh 2013 to the 2012.

Here's hoping that bottles aren't impossible to find.

 

I'm sure there are bottles out there to be found. People were finding '12s on the shelves even as recent as a month ago. Just takes a little work.

 

3,500 cases made, according to the bottle I got today. It's made it to the Springs.

 

Seems a lot tougher than last year. I got 3 bottles at 3 different stores today (all 1 bottle limits). Two of these stores had no limits at all last year and had it on shelves for weeks.

 

Anyone know if it has hit Fort Collins yet? I haven't seen any so far.

Dave, I'm sure it will be tougher than last year. Giving half to Texas gives us less, also more places limiting bottles which I like. Every year too, beers are getting more and more hyped with more craft drinkers searching these releases out. Is what it is to me, always another great beer released. (although Parabola is a top 20 beer for me!)

 

where did you find it? I went to Veterans yesterday and didnt see it? I also was at Weber st earlier in the week with no luck
