Parabola in NJ

    So last night I cracked open a bottle of 2017 Parabola and was more impressed than I thought I'd be. Years ago this was hands down one of my favorite BA stouts, but I remember not being as impressed when I had it on tap this past summer. FW released it late March this year, and I'd imagine it will be the same for 2018.

    When it was released, I didn't go hunting for it. I ended up being really behind and I ended up finding a bottle in Arizona when I was there for business. My question is, for most stores that got it, was it very difficult to get? I can't imagine it's on the shelf or available anywhere now, but I'm just wondering.

    I'm trying to get at least four bottles when it's released again. Thanks to anyone who remembers.

    Sometimes it's still available at my beer store in Philly. March or April release probably. It was much more available since it went to 12 oz.

    Ever since the small vintage bottles I’ve had zero issue finding their barrel stuff. Haven’t even hunted just happened upon them over and over again. I’m assuming it’ll be the same in 2018.

    Both my local stores still have bottles of 17 on the shelf. I agree that the smaller bottle and still hefty price tag is a big part of it.

    Parabola was the first beers the made a huge impression for my self and my Wine Drinking father years ago now. It was the one beer that allowed my father to really understand the complexity and awesomeness of beer. Till this day, he compares each and ever stout he has to parabola including the most recent CBS! But I cant remember which vintage it was that started this whole thing. But what I do remember is an amazing BA Stout worthy of my attention. Havent seen it in NJ yet.

    Spirits in Point Pleasant and Gerards did. Going to stop by Spirits after work today. Will double check and let you know for sure.

    much appreciated, 2 spots I hit fairly often actually.

    Spirits on 76 in that area has a pretty good selection normally as well

    I've seen it in NJ several times. They used to have the 22oz. bottles going back a few years ago.

    It's funny comparing CBS to Parabola because they're so different, but I can see why. I always get the impression that a lot of people rate beer lower when it becomes more widely available, and if it's hard to get they say it's a better beer, maybe to justify the effort put into it? To me, Parabola tastes as good as it ever has, and it's one of my favorite stouts.

    I think he means Linden discount liquors. It's on St. George's Ave in Linden.

    I figured that too but the one that comes up as having it in stock on beermenus is Linden Liquors in Illinois.

    I guess if you really wanted a bottle you could pick up the phone and call Linden Discount liquors. The other alternative is you can complain to me as if I run Beermenus
