This post has probably been beaten to death already elsewhere, but here goes anyway. Have I missed the boat on this? I kept an ear to the ground and all of my normal shops haven't gotten any allocation. I remember last year they popped up right around Beer Week, do we think that is the case again this year?
Every one of my sources (where I buy beer) thinks we will not see it this year. That's the reason I stock up on "tradeable" beers in order to find things like Parabola
Already been out in South Jersey (Canal's Pennsauken had it 2 weeks ago I think?). I have no idea why PA is so slow. I'm passing this year anyways, tried it the last 2 years just didn't care for it much.
I've called around and every single store either had all reserved or so called sold out. One manager even told me he had some but not for new customers. I had to break down and buy one bottle I found for $25. Sucks but it saved me the gas and toll to pick one up in NJ.
This was like a ghost. I feel like it was gone faster than usual and faster than Sucaba this year. Hopefully there's more somewhere.
The Bistro in Phoenixville just announced on their FB wall that they have some in stock. I'm not sure what the pricing is but from previous experiances I'd guess somewhere around $25 a bottle. https://www.facebook.com/bistroonbridgebar?fref=nf
Yup, they were selling KBS at $15/bottle when that came out, so $25 wouldnt surprise me here. Greeks Next Door also has it for $25. Too much...yet...Parabola so good...
Basically came and went this week. I did lots of calling today after asking the distributor who got some. He gave me 4 places and they had all received one case each. And all of them said they sold out. Whether that's the truth remains to be seen. But I did my "chasing" during KBS season. Not doing it again. That's why I trade for Parabola...great beer but harder to find (around here) than almost every other one I've seen.
The ridiculous prices at the Corner Foodery are the main reason that things such as Parabola, sours from Russian River & Cascade, etc. sit on their shelves for weeks. Although somehow, its these bottle shops that still get all of the "rare" releases in quantity.
