Absolutely agree. BOTW draws a lot of water in this area. My favorite store is Hegedorns by far but sometimes I see some gems at BOTW (though not lately). So I visit every few weeks to see what's up. A few weeks ago I asked someone there if they had gotten anything special recently. I was told that they received a second shipment of KBS, a case of Goose Island Cherry Rye Bourbon County Brand Stout (MONTHS after it came to the area) as well as extra Black Ops. I was stunned. Apparently they asked the distributor if they had anything awesome kicking around and well, yes, they did.

And while I can trade for Parabola, a bottle from BOTW at $22.99 is still cheaper than trading. And I'd get to keep my previous bottles in my cellar!

I used to go to BOTW a lot but I haven't bought a single thing from them in over a year now. I love Parabola, but I don't care if BOTW was the only store in NY to get Parabola, I refuse to buy from them. Especially at $22.99 a pop.

We (NSCS) got 12 bottles, 1 to an employee, 7 to customers the day of release, 4 in the cellar for later release. This game has gotten very difficult in the past 2 years. Sorry.

Amen. I bought my first beer there, and an extremely high percentage of my shopping in my first couple of years happened there. I was young and relatively inexperienced, and the ability to try a bottle of this or that without committing to a six pack was a huge draw. However, as I learned more about what I liked, other stores also started expanding their selections, and I simultaneously started paying more attention to things like date codes. I've now set foot in BOTW once in the last two years. And given that I come in from PA where "convenience" and "beer" don't fit in the same sentence, it should say something that a place with such flexible purchasing options won't even get my business.
