Parabola at HEB Tech Ridge, about 7 bottles left after I got mine

 

Pinthouse Pizza had 2013 Parabola and 2013 Sucaba on tap on Saturday. Don't know for sure if it is still there, but that's the last place I've seen that had it.

 

What?!? Seriously?!? I live right by there and although the selection has become a lot better recently, to me it's one of the worst HEB's for beer in the Austin area.

 

JUH. WHY DON'T I HAVE MONEY. NEED SUCABA.

 

What has been the price of Parabola around Texas? I'm just curious to compare it to CA prices.
General prices, not at super-high mark up places if any one can share.

 

Yep, I live near this HEB and have ALWAYS been disappointed with their selection. I was shocked to see it on the shelf!

Thats odd you say this, cus i called about 5 minutes after you posted this and the beer person told me they never got any. (zip, zero, zilch)

This guy says on the youtube page Deschutes sent him a 2010 Abyss and an apology

Dangit, that HEB is close by my house... At this rate I'll prob. be forced to go pick up another bottle when I get off work >.>

 

He's calmed down a bit on this one.

 

People complaining about having to get yet an extra bottle... send these complaint bottles to me.

 

Likewise, but they're different animals. Both have similar aromas and flavors (licorice, chocolate, barrel...) but way differe from the flavor of malts and bourbon.

Abyss was perfect texture chocolate cake, strong licorice and a hint of alcohol...look forward to the years to come with them. Parabola though is a rich bourbony fudge chocolate brownie hah, with fruit and vanilla sweet bourbon. In wouldn't hate on Parabola. Much better than BBH 005 fresh.

I did bring mine from the source (CA) so hot texas weather didnt have chance of f'n over.

 

Guess he didn't know what they had on their hands, it was a beautiful shelf full of it.

 

Still 3 left at 10 pm when I was there...had to see it for myself. Tech Ridge HEB with shelf Parabola...NEVER woulda thunk it

 

Maybe we are talking about different HEBs, are you talking about the one on Parmer and I-35?

 

I am heading to Austin today. Anywhere in south Austin to pick this up? My buddy lives off 35 and Slaughter.

 

Yes -- I see two other people posting in this thread that they saw Parabola at HEB Tech Ridge after me so I didn't make it up or hallucinate.

 

My buddy went there and the "beer guy" told him they never got any so someone is not being truthful, whoever that is.
