Had a BBQ party this weekend and an AWESOME BA showed up with a housewarming gift of Parabola.

Danielbt is the MAN.

Might have to make a road trip to Hopfields(which would be my first) for some o dat Velvet merlin if its still around.

 

I believe Velvet Merlin is also at Pinthouse Pizza as well right now.

 

I should be closing on my first house around mid June and I'm saving my one bottle of Parabola for a House Warming / Closing celebration party. Big thanks to bmurray10 for the trade.

Thank Michael. I'm moving back to League City from Friendswood/Pearland area. Just looking forward to getting all the paperwork finished and getting moved in.

 

I'll probably crack open some Sucaba and Speedway Stout this weekend. You know I wouldn't have gotten either for us if you hadn't reminded me to get off my ass and hunt some down.

And it's quite tasty paired with a Pinthouse slice. I had a glass of Velvet Merlin for lunch with their margarita. One perk of working across the street from a brewpub.

Had bottles on sale at Sigel's in Uptown Dallas earlier, not sure if there are any left. Also, going on tap at The Common Table at 5:30 today.

 

Is Velvet Merlin sought after in TX or something? What's the scoop?
Edit: I thought I saw it all over a month or two ago.

 

Had a few glasses at Common Table tonight! As quickly as these big beers disappear off shelves, I'm always surprised at how nobody really goes after them when a keg is tapped. Parabola can be sold out at stores in less than 30 minutes, but a keg can last a few days.

 

Some people just like to enjoy beer in the comfort of their own home. This way you don't have to worry about being too drunk to drive.

Howdy. I grew up in League City and only moved away two years ago to the Friendswood/Pearland area. Finally purchasing a house and moving back. We will have to meet up sometime at Nobi.

 

Showed up right at 5:30 yesterday and I saw they had even pre-poured a ton of it expecting a bum rushed bar, but was able to get two glasses comfortably. Hope it makes it to saturday as I want to try side/side with Abyss.

 

Sure thing. I grew up in Texas City, but moved up here as soon as I got a career.

 

I think they ran out last night. Someone posted of Untappd that they got the last 4 oz in the keg. I am in Houston for work and was hoping for it to last until Saturday for that same side/side. Oh well - Double DBA instead!

 

Silly question, but any Parabola left around Dallas?

 

I'm almost positive it's all gone. Hopefully there'll be a few more bars that have a keg stashed away, but that would be about it.
