Hi folks, In 2013 we brought a growler of FRESH Pliny to Amsterdam and shared it with some locals. It was really fun to see their reactions to the fresh fragrant aroma. In April, my wife and I will be traveling to Paris; we could bring a growler of Pliny or some bottles, if someone was interested in meeting up. In addition, I will be searching the forums for recommendations on places to go to try beer in Paris. If you have suggestions, let me know. FWIW, we'll be at the Les Jardins du Marais, rue Amelot, 11 ARR. cheers, John
I'm also going to Paris this April. I was there two years ago and thought the beer scene was solid. Kinda near your hotel I can recommend Hoppy Corner as a good bar and la cave a bulles for a bottle shop.
I'm from Paris and I warmly recommend you Liquiderie Bar 7 Rue de la Présentation, 75011 Paris https://maps.app.goo.gl/iWRKw8ngVRpFs7hHA
I arrive in Paris April 29 after some time in Strasbourg. Look forward to any suggestions after your time there.
Bumping this one, since it’s clear the few members who wanted to come to Paris in April right during the pandemic probably (certainly) couldn’t make it. Right now the bars, restaurants and pubs are reopening even in badly affected Paris. The waiters are wearing masks and you’re very much encouraged to do so especially if hanging out inside these establishments (I mean if you’re going to the toilets/restrooms) However on terrace, it’s no issue at the moment. No mask mandatory, make sure to comply with basic guidelines from the health authorities and you could enjoy a beer or two over there.
Are they allowing bar service as well, or just table service at this point? Just curious how my favorite wine bar is faring in this slow reopening process. They do have limited table service, but half the fun of going there is sitting at the bar and listening to the banter (even if I don't understand most of it). LEGRAND FILLES ET FILS over on 1, Rue de la Banque. My wife and I would be crushed if they ever were to go belly up.
For the time being, bar service is not really allowed, last I checked. Too much promiscuity, but since the daily death toll has fallen to 14 as of the last 24 hours, many people have stopped caring (probably wrongly so) and after over two months of forced shut down for these establishments, they are really looking to make up for that financially. Depend when you intend to land here.
