Hi folks, I posted in 2020 about heading to Paris and that didn't happen. It's happening next week and I've read through the prior replies to my post and have taken notes. Like before, we will be staying at the Jardins du Marias, Rue Amelot. Big question: Should I bring a couple bottles of Pliny the Elder in my luggage or will they be unknown and unwanted. (We would usually tip beer-tenders with cash and a Pliny in the States.) If that's the case, any local Paris beer enthusiasts interested? cheers, John
Hi John, Certain shops would definitely know and appreciate a Pliny as a tip. La binouze (they have an empty one atop their shelves, Liquiderie, I.B.U, la Caisse des Bières (a bit farther out). It would still very much be more on the niche side, most places would have no idea what it is. Shame I'm not in Paris any more, would have loved to try it. You'll definitely find American craft beer in Paris, but the very best of the French and European ones would be worth your while. Popihn, Fauve, Prizm. Enjoy Paris!
