Have recently begun traveling to Park City. Beer options are unbelievably limited. Have found a few bars with decent selections, but there seems to be the same 10 brands everywhere, including liquor stores. I know the state has a strange distribution and sale system, but can anyone tell me where I can get my craft beer geek on?
I'd recommend the Bee Hive Pub in downtown Salt Lake. Pretty thorough selection of almost everything in the area. Epic in town is probably worth a visit too. Beyond the breweries in PC, I'm afraid you won't find much more than you have. Although mule some beer from out of town when you travel and you might find a bottle share?
Yeah, If you've exhausted what PC has to offer it's time to move on to SLC. The Bayou specializes in sours and Belgian/Dutch beers - has a vast (300) bottle list. Beerhive specializes in high gravity American ales and Beer Bar specializes in hard to find Northwest breweries. All have a lot of local seasonals on tap as well. Look at RedRock Brewing's downtown location, as well as The Annex (Epic Brewing) and Bohemian Brewing (Specializes in old world lagers). Hope that's helpful. http://utahbeer.blogspot.com
Had the pleasure to try some SLC beers and I was pleasantly surprised with was available, wish I would have taken some CA beers to have had some sort of share or something. Look around, they have things to offer.
@indian_pale_ale sorry to mislead you, I am in NY right now, soon to be in CO. I was more suggesting the OP try and find a bottle share, or host one. Next time I head to SLC I'll hit you up.
