Whats your favorite place to grab a bite and a beer in Richmond? We are road tripping from Florida to Syracuse, spending the night in Richmond hoping to find a good spot to recharge.

    Thanks!

I'm headed through myself on Saturday. The Capital Ale House is a nice, polished place with a great selection. I, however, will be stopping at Ardent Craft Ales for a beer or two and then Penny Lane for lunch. Strangeways isn't far off of I-95 as well.

Lots of people will tell you Mekong...and those people are absolutely correct.

Between Capital and Penny Lane it's clearly Capital.

Was just looking at Capital online, looks pretty solid. How do they do they do bringing in local brews?

Mekong. Great Vietnamese food and the best beer menu in Richmond by a mile.

The easy answer is Mekong and The Answer brewpub (right next door). As for breakfast, I would hit up Saison Market. Chicken biscuits are awesome, plus they have a great beer selection an drafts.

They typically have a decent selection of locals, no worries there. If you are jumping off 95 to hit the main st. location, you may as well meander to Strangeways and/or Hardywood. None of them are too awfully far.

Thanks so much for the recommendation! This place is absolutely legendary! Fantastic food, awesome staff, amazing beer! They also just opened a location next door call The Answer Brewpub which is expertly staffed, better than Mekong in my opinion as far as beer knowledge goes, entirely different tap list, absolutely phenomenal. Thank you guys for the expert recommendation!

Yeah I figured there was no need to mention The Answer since you can't miss it if you go to Mekong. Glad you had/are having a good time!
