You can have a good beer thats over rated. I'd wager that's how the whole "blind taste test" thing came about at bottle shares.
Going off of historical trends from this same brewery doesn't seem like that big of a stretch to me. Maybe a bit unnecessary but when you have some beer stock broker guy coming in here saying "omgz 2pp no one's giving these up they're going to be fire emoji fer sure", I can understand the urge.
That atomic guy seems to be quite involved in the sac beer community on BA. I'd trust his opinion over some guy who's been on here since 2008 but only has posts about this one brewery very recently. I'm just saying, seems a little strange is all

 

Just hold onto your bottle for a min man. There will be ones who trade it off in anticipation with regret in the end. It’s only a matter of time the demand on pm will soar once all the ppl who give them up so easily trade them off.

Couldn’t agree more pm is better than most the beers you listed. Mdb4 , gsn , way better than igcccs

These sales pitches were annoying for a while, but now it's just funny.

 

"Coincidentally, my local brewery produces the best beers in the world, lucky for you folks I'm prepared to let it go and share the wealth in exchange for some beers with ridiculously long acronyms, limited time offer while supplies last."

 

He even has the spelling of a Nigerian bank scammer to go along with this ridiculous hype thread.

It's comical to be honest, but the mods should probably take this one out behind the shed.

 

Or people start cracking them open, realize it was overhyped, and the demand craters. Regardless of what you think of the beer, the trading market is a fickle mistress.

Nope, if one crosses my path at a share and I get to try it, cool, but I'm neither looking to pump nor decrease its value - merely commenting on the hype games people play.

 

Speaking of Hype games.....Moksa itself has really LIMITED tasters for this beer.

There were a couple of pre-release events that were pretty limited. Central Coast Craft Beer Fest, Old Town Pizza Roseville and Hop Grenade. It was also limited small pours of PM for the people who got Thicc Nibb bottles at that release.

Even at the upcoming Saturday 4/21 PM bottle release, the only people that will get limited pours are the ones lining up for hours in the bottle line. "Tickets for a 5 oz taster will be sold at ONLY at the bottle purchasing table"

That is textbook 101 for how you get hype untappd reviews.....

Like was mentioned earlier.... it is possible for a beer to be BOTH Good and over hyped.

It’s certainly over-hyped. As far as good, I would say it was a solid non BA stout. I am curious if all these guys trying to pump the value have even tried it yet.
