I remember enjoying a six-pack of this good Pilsner in 12 oz. bottles about a decade ago or longer; then the six-packs disappeared. I will certainly buy the 4-pack of cans if I ever see them in my area.

Grabbed lunch outside at a German restaurant a couple of months ago and Paulaner Pils was on the tap list. I couldn't remember ever seeing it before, so I ordered it but the keg was kicked and I had to "settle" for a Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. Looks like I might have a chance at redemption soon!

I feel like if I time traveled from when I first joined this site in 2004 to now and read this post I’d be REALLY confused...and disappointed.

I saw a post from them on Facebook about this and they're acting like it's a new beer. I asked if it's the same as the previous Paulaner Pils and got no response. Maybe they really did kill the prior one off and this is something new entirely?
Their Ur-Dunkel is different than their previous dunkel and they either brought back or created a new version of their Urtyp fairly recently.

I saw a BeerBuzz article where the Paulaner USA rep talks about "bringing the Pilsner back," I'll look it up and attach a link.

Despite some folks having reservations about another import, I'll tuck some of these back in my fridge and dream of the Lowenbraus that I drank for years. I do like Paulaner beers across the range that they offer...

For the time being, I’m enjoying Eggenberg Hopfen König

This is pretty widely available in the DC area for a good price.

    Prost!

But see, Ur is like a word in German, not initials -- sounded out: Ooor, short for Urquell, meaning original -- or original source. Get it now?
