Get off PCH around Long Beach (710 or 110) and hook back up on 10 in Santa Monica.

Good beer suggestions so far. Advice - Bring some San Diego beers with you to share with/gift to some of the super small brewers (like Cambria). They like that.

Also, stop at The Libertine Pub in Morro Bay. Great taphouse, but they are also a very small brewery with all barrel aged stuff, primarily sours.

If you are going to Disneyland on a weekday, hollingshead deli is a great stop. Great tap list and lunch. Its off the 5 on your way there. They are closed weekends.

Fellow BAs: Thanx for all your suggestions and advice. Certainly more than I could glean myself.

I'm sitting a stones throw from the PCH. FW Barrelworks in Buellton, for sure. They're open Friday-Sunday 12pm-7pm. Literally attached to Barrelworks is the FW Tap Room which is open 7 days a week and they have great dinner starting at 5pm, and a mini merch & beer store.

If you're stopping in Buellton, Figueroa Mountain Brew is right down the street, and Ascendant Spirits is next door to the Fig.

From Buellton to SLO (San Luis Obispo) you'll pass by Pismo Brewing Company, and ManRock Brewing Co. on the coast before SLO

SLO has several breweries, Tap-It, Central Coast Brewing, Creekside Brewing, and Downtown Brew (SLO Brew)

North of SLO (before Paso Robles) you have Dunbar Brewing (but on the 101)

If you decide to go to FW in Paso Robles, there's a few near by breweries; Barrelhouse Brewing Co and Paso Robles Brewing Company.

South of Buellton, Santa Barbara has lots of little breweries, Telegraph, Hollister Brew, etc.

Agree with all other suggestions, just tossing out two I don't think I saw mentioned. Island brewing, in Carpinteria, and Figeroua Mountain Brewing, which has locations in Santa Barbara & Buelton. I've done the drive from Morro Bay to Monterey via PCH, and agree there is very little detours there, but it is a drive I recomend doing at least once, since it is a beautiful coast along that stretch.
