I will be getting into town today, and was wondering what the must-sees are from a beer lover's perspective. I have done some research, but am interested in getting some locals' opinions. I am especially interested in finding either Pliny, on draught or bottle. Thanks in advance- cheers!
Bottles are pretty tough to come by, as I believe the distributor gets a single RR drop each month, and most retailers run out in a day or two after receiving their shipment. Stilll, it's worth a try to call around, so maybe check with places such as John's Market Place, Belmont Station, Beaumont market and Beermongers. Some beer bars may have bottles as well (Apex and Higgins almost always have bottles of Pliny), but the mark-up tends to be high and freshness is often an issue (last time I was at Higgins they had Pliny that was more than 6 months old!). In terms of draft pliny, there you may have more luck. A lot of places have it on tap fairly often, with your best bet probably County Cork. However, you can also typically find Pliny on tap at places like the Horse Brass, Belmont Station, Henry's tavern and Apex. Have fun.
