So I'm going to be in portland from the 5 - 11, and apparently Portland Beer Week is the 6 - 16. Their website has very little info though, and I cant seem to find much on it here either. does anyone know anything about it?
haha. definitely agree on that one. just wondering if there anything extra cool. even if it's nothing, I wont really be disappointed since it's such a great beer town anyway.
Here's a post from a similarly puzzled visitor last year. The responses from msubulldog25 and maltmaster420 go a long way towards explaining the low key flavor of this event I think. http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/portland-beer-week-i-dont-get-it.21353/#post-261693
Stay tuned. The board has been lining up all sorts of events, and most of them are either confirmed or will be soon, so the site should be updated shortly. I'm not at liberty to say much yet, but I can tell you that we've got stuff lined up at the station for almost every day that week, and we should have a bunch of fun stuff from breweries that aren't normally available in Oregon. The only confirmed event that I'm aware of is the Fruit Beer Fest on the 8th and 9th.
Wow, the fruit fest list sounds incredible this year. In addition to the predictably awesome Oregon brewers, I'm excited to try Crooked Stave and the Stone Mango IPA.
Just saw dreadnaught on tap over at the Apex. So, can one assume that perhaps 3 Floyds will be one of the "not normally seen in PDX" breweries for beer week?
I'll be in town from Illinois on the 13th and 14th if anyone wants to set up an IP trade for FFF, Pipeworks, etc... I'm anxiously waiting for the PDX Beer Week site to get updated.
Lots of new events were posted to the PDX Beer Week Calendar (June 6-16) earlier today: http://pdxbeerweek.com/calendar/?d=2013-06-01
