Peachy ester in a commercial Maibock

    Any insights as to what is going on here? A specific lager yeast that is known for this?

    US-05 and Notty produce peach when fermented cold.

    Yes, I've gotten peach from US-05. The beer is Sprecher. I would have guessed they use a lager strain, but maybe not. My first reaction was "interesting." But after a few sips I wished it weren't there.

    I love Sprecher Maibock. I always figured the fruitiness came from the hops, maybe Willamette. I haven’t found Sprecher yet this season. If/when I do, I will ponder the peach possibilities.
