Love the flavor but sick of peanut butter stouts going sour on me.

What do you mean by this? You're getting tired of the style or they literally go sour after a while?

The PB additive that they use is notorious for infections, OH Snowbirds VIP, Henry and Fran Ocean Full of Bowling Balls, and PB PM Dawn all had issues last year.

Managed to find the last 4 pack of Gunner's Daughter yesterday at a place close to my house. It's definitely a good beer and has that 'dry' PB taste like in Reeses cups that I got from Sweet Baby Jesus. I had a HOTS a few hours after and it's more of a fresh, thick PB taste.

The guy at the register mentioned the imperial version and that it's possible they could get some in at some point. This would be great because if regular GD had a fuller body it would be a top pick imo. Anyone know if cans ever hit distro in CT?

Imperial Gunners was brewery only last batch.

Likely just the cashier speculating since regular Gunner's Daughter was brewery only for a while first before it began distribution, certainly possible the Imperial could take the same track.

Drank a Peanut Butter Blossom from Dewey Beer Co. yesterday. Similar light body to Gunner's Daughter but the carb was big and prickly like soda which was a bummer but seems to consistent through their stouts. Decent PB flavor but not as pronounced as GD. Bale still my personal winner but neither of these beers probably qualify since they don't see distro.

The Widowmaker PB stout really surprised me, enjoyed it more than Gunners Daughter, more peanut butter.

The Gunner's Daughter I found was canned in early January, so 4 months old. Would it have fallen off at all?

Big Gruesome PB & Jelly stout by Spring House (PA) was quite tasty. Don't know about distro out of Lancaster though.

I thought this year's PB&J was pretty fantastic. So jammy on the finish. Peanut Butter Cup was good just not as good as PB&J, IMHO.

Just had imperial Beachfire Stories yesterday from Vitamin Sea and thought it was excellent, grabbed cans of the regular Beachfire Stories as well. They seem to have a knack for packing a lot of flavor and good body into lower abv stouts which is really nice. PB was undeniably present but not overpowering and I had no trouble finishing a glass.
