Anyone going to this show? I am coming from New York and staying at the Saint Paul hotel. What would be best craft place to hang out on Sunday before show?

In st. Paul check out the red cow, the bulldog, bluedoor, and Groveland tap. Those are my suggestions.
Have a good time at the show

I'll be there, Alarys is right in downtown and actually has a great tap selection now.

I'm still looking for tickets at a somewhat reasonable price. We got frozen out on the day they went on sale...minor computer issues and then they were gone in 15 minutes pretty much even though they were limiting sales to 4 per person. I'll probably get tickets just before the show if I go.

If I go I'll likely hit Great Waters before hand. If Tin Whiskers is open on Sunday I might hit that as well

The St Paul grill has great dinner entrees and it's right in your hotel.

Hop the train and hit up town hall or stub and herbs. Avoid central waters at all costs.

Not beer related, except for munchies, but go to Candyland and get some fresh caramel corn too, it's awesome.

Thanks for all of the advice, keep it coming!

I didn't even realize St Paul had a train.

I will also be there on Saturday, if there is any place I can go to via train that would be worth my while please let me know.

I haven't had a beer that I would rate above average at great waters. So many better local options. Its not a place I would want an out-of-towner to judge the local craft beer scene by.

I disagree....while there are several I would suggest ahead of them I still think they do some solid if not spectacular beers......their Hefe was top notch when I stopped before the Van Halen concert a few years back and the other times I've been there since they have been solid.....not a place i personally would avoid...particularly if in the area,,

The Happy Gnome, Red Cow, Muddy Pig, Burger Moes, and Alary's all have great tap lists.

If you stay downtown, Tin Whiskers is a newer taproom to give a try. I'm a big fan of their stout and their WheatStone Bridge is crazy good.

Another place to give a try would be Rival House. Decent tap list and they have some old school games to play (skeeball).

I'd stay downtown and hit the perfect 1-2 punch of Barrio for dinner and the Bulldog next door for beers.
    +1 on avoiding Great Waters.

Have any of the Great Waters haters been there in the last year or 2? There beers are solidly good and they have the best cask beers in the Twin Cities. What they don't always have are lots of hoppy beers. At $2.75 a pop during happy hour, they don't break the bank either.

Myself and 3 other BA's went there took a friend before Vikings game in August. We all voted it worst of the 4 breweries we hit before the game. Pricing may have been good, beer was not.
