Its illegal to ship to MA, and 99% of shops adhere to that law. I'd find a UPS store in a neighboring state and ship it there and go pick it up.

I would give this site a bit to see if or how much shipping goes up. LetsPour still seems very fair on pricing even though they include shipping costs into bottle prices. Right now Pearl must be straight up loosing money so we'll see. I don't think it's fair to be so quick to bash.

Just picked up a sixer of Deschutes Obsidian Stout. As an East coast-er, I'm super excited to try this gem.

I know for a fact that they're losing money on the 2 6pks of Velvet Merlin that someone mentioned ordering, and unless they're getting a screaming deal on shipping and styro shippers they're probably losing money on the RR stuff as well.

The free shipping is "limited time only" so if you're gonna make moves make 'em now.

    Had
They still showed the shipping price when you check out at pearl, and it would have been ~$24 had i not have selected the free option. The difference in price in JUST the 5 beers that I got at pearl that LP is currently selling as well is $18.95. Bear in mind that I bought three more bombers, and 2 six packs as well. If you consider an average of $3-4 mark up for the remaining 3 bombers and presume that the 2 6 packs i got would have been on par with letspour's pricing of 21st back in black & IPA ($32), there's no way that even had I have paid pearls shipping, that it would have justified letspours pricing.

I don't think I'm being too quick to judge, frankly....

Let's just be happy (at least those of us in Florida and other East Coast states) that we're able to legally get some great brews otherwise not available. :grinning:

Ha ha, I swear I wasn't trying to advertise for them, I just really wanted to know if this was for real, I mean they have some stuff that I can't get as cheap locally, I just had a too good to be true moment and had to ask if anyone knew they were legit.

Great Deal, just ordered some Deschutes and Russian River which we are deprived of here in NJ. If only they had some Pliny but then it might be too good to be true.

I think their entire stock has been wiped out by now. Slim pickings...

Some poor guy is going to come in this morning to the order list and shit his pants.

Yup I think that might be the case. Woke up to an email saying my Velvet Merlin is actually out of stock and I'll get a refund. Oh well.

I'm familiar with the brick and mortar building (only two blocks away at the moment) and know for a fact that they occasionally get Pliny in stock but don't sell out instantly either since they charge about twice as much as the norm for Portland ($8-$10). Check back with the web site regularly and you might be in for a surprise one day. Pliny is just landing at shops around town this week so keep your eyes pealed.

They never get mentioned in the "where to go in Portland" threads so maybe they're looking to the online sales market for some business. I know that I personally spend very little money there even though they're so close and convenient for me. Prices are just a little higher than average b ut it's the personnel which discourage me from patronizing. Not as knowledgeable as your crew. Speaking of which, I'll be swinging by Belmont Station later today. Looking forward to some BS15!
