Is there a higher trade value then the actual dollar amount? If so what would they be?

I have no idea how to answer this. They're worth exactly what someone will trade you for them, and that will be different from person to person.

I get that, all of my trades were $4$ I was just wondering if it is a known thing that they have a bit of extra value or just $4$

IMO, they are face value until JK and 512 become well known and develope a national reputation for fine and sought after beers. Then, there value will be greater than initial cost and these early editions will then, become highly sought after whales.

For now, I say yes. And set up a vertical with the following releases. Get 2-4 bottles of each on release, if you can, and build up a Tx cellar.

Any beer is worth what whatever person is willing to trade for it. Just like my comics, while some can be "valued" at 100 or more, theyre not "worth" jack shit til i have a buyer.

And just because something is sought after, doesnt make it good to all. (KTG comes to mind, thouroughly unimpressed when i finally got a taste of one)

This is true about a lot of things. You build up months/yrs of anticipation and no beer can live up to that kinda pressure. Don't get me wrong. The beer might be awesome and good but was it worth the effort for you to search out another bottle.

BruceBruce- quit worrying about perceived trade value. Develop good relationships with traders that are interested in giving you access to beers that you want to try without trying to make you pay significantly above $4$ value. I have no interest in trying to maximize value when it comes to trading. Also, quit posting about this. The guys that trade with you can see your post history. Try to be less transparent.

Honestly, the Beer Geek wasn't anything to get excited about because the peppers were hotter than the coffee would allow. You could taste both, but the only thing that made it stand out from other JK offerings was the fact that it didn't taste like every other JK offering.

Its a shame that all their beers taste like variants of each other...

Haven't tried Rodeo yet, but Thrash/Black Metal were the two I liked best and I liked the old yeast better. Mad Meg was way to sour for me, well most of their beers are to sour for me.

They are both worth beer. I would trade beer for them.

Seriously though find some trade partners and spread the wealth. I have access to far less than you and I've nearly ticked everything I've ever wanted. I don't get Jester King, Karbach, 512, or Live Oak. I can go on and on.

I had a dream that read something like this FT:Black Cherry Bomb ISO:Boxer's Revenge Batch#1

I wouldn't stress the value of these things too much, especially at this point (anyone outside of TX that wanted these items has already obtained them and you missed the boat until next year's release). I'd venture a guess that no-one got more than $4$ on any of these. But heck if you get that value against other limited releases that would be totally cool.

Bottom line is $4$. If you want to trade ebay prices then go to ebay. I wasnt trading my partridge for $10 because it was 300+ on ebay. sorry but 300 buys alot of beers.

Are you fucking kidding me? You trying to say that Jk beers taste the same? You really need new taste buds if so.

They do have a similar taste among them. probably the yeast characteristics, dogfish head is the same way.

That's how I feel about st Arnold. It's the yeast.

Hm, personally i dont see it on either front. I get distinct flavors from both companies offerings. Although i guess i could see if the yeast strains are similar getting, for example, a belgiany flavor from all belgians......which is kind of the point of a style.

But thats like saying Paulo Santo Marron has a similiar taste to Dogfishhead 90 min IPA, or BM tasting similar to wytchmaker, which i just dont get that at all. At least not enough to call them variants of each other.
