Peekskill and captain Lawrence, along with folks from Riverkeeper and yours truly, got together to brew up an imperial IPA to benefit Riverkeeper, new york's clean water advocate. You can help name the beer:
    http://www.riverkeeper.org/news-events/news/safeguard-drinking-water/peekskill-brewery-and-captain-lawrence-brewing-co-to-launch-riverkeeper-beer/

Each brewery will throw a separate launch party - 9/24 at Peekskill brewing, 9/26 at captain Lawrence, and 10/4 at the Hudson hop mad harvest festival in Peekskill.

Drink a beer. Save the world. Cheers.

If you guys haven't tried the beers coming out of these places, you outta. When I saw the state rankings recently posted on this site with NY in the top 10 and people bashing I just assumed they haven't been to these 2 breweries, as well as a few of the other small guys. Some good stuff brewing in NY, just gotta know where to look.

yeah. captain lawrence has been excellent for years, and peekskill make some of the best hoppy pale ales in the northeast.

hope i get to try this.

Also I should point out that PB is looking for volunteers for the festival. I think you get a shirt, growler, and maybe beer tickets and only work a couple hours. Plus your work is to help make the festival zero waste, so do good, drink good. Win win.

And yeah ny is underrated/appreciated in my opinion too. Singlecut, other half, six point, rushing duck, finback. But I'm sure everyone thinks that about their region/state (my local sports team is superior to your local sports team mentAlity may be unavoidable). Unless you're in Mississippi (sorry Mississippi).

This brew will be around 7.5%, so not too imperial. Hop bill is warrior, centennial, mosaic, ahtanum.
