Peekskill has been here since before most of the rest of the good ones, though I definitely agree about many others popping up. Life is getting really good for us fine beer lovers.

Farm laws should not negatively impact any brewery. The eventual 90% NYS ingredient requirement is only for beers brewed under the farm license. A farm brewery has both a regular brewery license and specific farm license. A farm brewery can still produce beers under their standard brewery license (without local ingredients), they just do not get the tax benefits from those beers.

    The price creep is real.

$16/4-pack for a 5.1% pale ale is borderline absurd. I'm willing to adjust slightly for being in the Northeast (even though it's Peekskill, a far cry from Brooklyn or Astoria), but I got 6-packs of Zombie Dust at the brewery for $10/ea last month.

As Peekskill has never canned their beers before I do not see this as a price creep. Growlers have always been expensive at Peekskill - even more expensive at the brewery then some retail locations. It costs 18$ for a 64 oz. growler of NYPA and 16$ for 4 16 oz cans. I am not arguing that 16$/4pk is a reasonable price to pay, I think that it is quite high, just that these cans represent a slight price decrease and far more convenience.

Peekskill and Three Floyd's are not a good comparison...More like Peekskill and Rushing Duck; Three Floyd's and Captain Lawrence or Three Floyd's and Fat Head's.

Sweet looking cans! These seem like on the can as opposed to shrink wrap. Would love to snag some of these not only to drink, but to make some beer coasters.

Hmmmmm...3pm next friday. Maybe I'll head up as I'm sure I'll get out of work early for the holiday.

I meant on the cost of beer in general... it's as is $16/4-pack is the new standard price point. I wasn't aware of Peekskill's pricing on NYPA growlers, which I agree seems excessive as well.

I understand economies of scale when comparing breweries, but if you even take Rushing Duck as a comp, they're charging $13/4-pack for /0, which is approaching 7% ABV.

Exactly. The comparison to Rushing Duck is how you can tell that Peekskill is (cough cough) overpriced.

    Sweet looking cans.

Their prices have always been high since the move to present location. It is the main reason I stopped going very often. That, and Rushing Duck seriously stepped up their game.

Def. gonna try to make this release though, NYPA is a great beer, not sure I have tasted it since Chief left, though.

The food is usually really good at Peekskill - one of the main reasons I visit. Also I really like their Hop Common and Maltballs. But growler prices are even more insane than SingleCut/Other Half. I usually get a growler or two anyway since I went all that way up there. The park on the water is a nice place to hang out too. About Rushing Duck - anything non beer related around there? I guess Bear Mountain?

Doesn't sound as compelling as what Peekskill offers - nice to go and eat hang out and play at Peekskill park with the family.

Probably. RD has great beer, but not much to do in the surrounding area. Only reason I go there as much as I do is because of family and friends living in the area (I grew up near there).

Went to Newburgh brewery and then Storm King this spring. I really like cream ales, and the food was surprisingly good too. Foosball and cornhole , kind of the perfect place.

FYI, cash only for the can sales. Don't think they posted that in any of the social media posts. If they did...my bad.
