Has anyone actually traded this beer? Or is this one of those things where you just flood the ISO forum with no results. I can't wait to see a iso: hunahpu ft: nooner
It sounds like it has the potential to be delicious. I don't have, nor would I give up, what it appears to take to obtain one.
I had it on tap. while it was good it wasn't worth in my opinion what the whale hunters want take it for what its worth I guess. all opinions are very subjective depending on which side of the trade your on!
It does trade very well, it's just a matter of finding someone with something you want, that's willing to let it go for a growler in return. I have traded Pegs growlers multiple times for big wants of mine. I thought this RareR DOS w vanilla was one of the best. Maybe title your FT thread RareR DOS w/ vanilla instead of FT: Nooner...people know RareR better.
Don't know if this got done, but if anyone needs a BCS Rare? http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/iso-nooner-glass-ft-rare.74363/
Then maybe he should say its closed? I traded RareR DOS from the Dec release for BCS Rare, twice. And the Dec release was ~300 growlers with limit of 3, where this was 120 with a limit of 1.
Had a well-kept growler from the December release and a friend and I were left wondering why all of the commotion aside from rarity.
The Dec release was a blend of multiple barrels, the March '12 release was a single barrel. This probably had a lot to do with it.
I didn't try the March '12 release, but when I spoke with Doug in Dec he seemed to think the single barrel came out better. When you have multiple barrels you might have some barrels that give too much barrel character, while some give too little. Some may be just perfect. Ultimately, you'll need to blend all of them to a desirable yield.
I'd love to try Nooner but not willing to give up the beers to get it. RareR DOS absolutely blew me away last year.
I feel like the Night Shift brewery only berliners are just as good and probably ten times easier to trade for.
Nooner batch 2 was RareR DOS with vanilla. Nooner batch 1 was a raspberry Berliner. We're talking about 2 here.
