I'll be spending an evening in Philly soon, specifically Penn's Landing. Any craft destinations within walking distance of the Holiday Inn Express? TIA!

Race St Cafe very close. A few blocks south on Chestnut is Eulogy, 2nd Story Brewing. Khyber Pass Pub is also near there.

Khyber Pass Pub, Eulogy and 2nd Story Brewing are all about a 10 minute/half of a mile walk from there. I've actually done that exact walk before and it is not bad.

Went to Khyber Pass Pub a couple weeks back and they had Pliny and Older Viscosity on, just to name a few $ items. Passed Penn's Landing on the walk from the car to the bar, so not far at all.

The shorter walk is Old City with places like Eulogy, Khyber Pass etc. already mentioned.

A little bit further (in the other direction) is Northern Liberties with Standard Tap, The Abbaye, Yards tasting room, etc.

Another place nearby that I like it The Victoria Freehouse; they serve imported English Ale on cask.

    Cheers!

WAll good mentions so far and I will add Bierstube on market just off Penn's landing. Dark but inviting in there! Or sit outside if you don't like the dark.

5 Beer Gardens in Philly worth giving a try. Frankford Hall, 1210 Frankford Ave.; Morgan's Pier, 221 North Columbus Blvd.; Spruce Street Harbor Park, Spruce St and South Columbus Blvd.; The Oval, in front of the Art Museum; and Independence Beer Garden, 100 South Independence Mall West. Plenty of good beer offerings, good food and entertainment. Enjoy!

Waiting for the first person to suggest that they go completely out of there way and visit Tired Hands...

I get plenty of that at Tired Hands West, aka Al's/Pizza Boy.

Thanks To All for the suggestions!

Sounds like Kyber Pass, Eulogy, and 2nd Story are all pretty close to each other. Anyone have a suggested walking route from 100 N Columbus (which looks like it's on the waterfront)? (MapQuest shows a driving route that can't (I hope) be the simplest walking route.) i.e. where would you cross I-95? Or is I-95 elevated there?

VikeMan... head a few blocks south of the hotel and there is a pedestrian overpass (over I-95) at Market Street. You will need to be on the river side of Delaware Ave/Columbus Blvd to cross.

Or walk a half block north along Columbus Blvd to Race Street and take that up to 2nd Street. Then walk south along 2nd to Chestnut where Khyber/Eulogy and 2nd Story are. That's a nicer walk than along Columbus Blvd in my opinion.

It seems now that Tired Hands has replaced Capone's as the most inconvenient answer given to the "I'm in Philly, where to go?" weekly questions.
