My relatives are coming in from Jim Thorpe/Lehighton and I need to know what unique Pennsylvania Brews I should hunt for and if there are any beer advocates that can recommend a good place in that area to get them. I know a few "beer man" types but they've only been able to sell me cases in the past and I'm hoping to find somewhere to get a few good mixed sixers from. HELP

Just to clarify, your relatives are in the Lehighton area and they are going to buy beer to bring to you in Michigan, or you are looking for PA beer in Michigan to serve them? If it's the former then my best recommendation is Abe's cold beer in Bethlehem (http://www.abescoldbeer.com/). Unfortunately that is about 30 minutes away from Lehighton but you won't beat their selection for individual bottle sales. As far as which beers to hunt for, I could make suggestions but it would probably help to know your preferred styles.

Troegs, Sly Fox, & Yards is a good start.

From the title of his thread, it's the former.

Abe's is a good suggestion but I have nothing more to add since I'm not in that area.

If your relatives want somewhere a little closer, the Sisters Cantina on the north side RT209 east of Tamaqua has a decent beer selection, though oddly enough, not much in the way of PA beers. (Wouldn't reccomend eating there though) If they don't mind making a trek west on Rt209 into Pottsville, the Weiss Supermarket on RT 61 just north of Pottsville has a mix-a-six pack (selection could be a bit better). They also have six packs of Troegs, Victory, Weyerbacher, & Stoudts. Check the BA listings, or the brewery websites, make your choices and place the order with the folks. Enjoy!
