Little late on this post, but we released this gem last Friday (3/1).

This beer is an Imperial Stout that was aged in Rittenhouse Rye barrels for 14 months before being introduced to coffee. It is in collaboration with Sump Coffee of St. Louis. After deciding what beans to use and roast level, Scott of Sump, roasted our coffee beans less than 48 hours before they were introduced to the beer. This is a very rich and heavy-handed BA imperial coffee stout, that will not only please the palate, but give you a little pick me up!

I missed out on this one. Perennial waited till day of to say anything about it, and in the end, never announced it on Facebook, and I was checking regularly in hopes to catch it. :slight_frown:

I've been frequenting Perennial for some time now and have always enjoyed the beer. After the BAA drama, I think it was very cool for the beer to be released very short notice. I caught the info on Twitter on a Friday after work. The wife and I drove over, had a pint, and caught the official release of the beer. I bought two bottles and drank two glasses when it was tapped. Great atmosphere and a truly amazing beer.

Yea I like the idea of short notice releases, but I work in the food industry and I work nights and weekends. Therefore, I basically will never be able to show up for a release, because I'm working. Then they sell out before I even get a chance to go there. I would gladly take a night off work to show up for a release, but I can't do that if I don't know the date ahead of time. So here I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Their mint stout is coming out soon, but I can't afford to take off work one day for a chance they might release it that night.

have you tried calling the brewery and explaining your situation? I have heard a lot of these places will hold back a few bottles for valued customers if they are unable to make the release that day/night as long as they know your situation. Not saying that perennial will do this but I have heard online about some brew houses doing this. Worth a shot?

Just a heads up, they had bottles of this available the next day as well. It's when I picked up mine and had some on draft.

Yea I heard they had some on Saturday, but I was working a double from 10am till 11pm. Went back when they opened back up on Wednesday and they were out. :slight_frown: I was lucky to land a bottle of BA Abraxas on that days release at least. You win some you lose some I guess. I'll try that out Msulax4

If you want to trade the BAA for the BA Sump, I'm game. In STL.

If anyone in STL would like a Chicago trading partner shoot me a BM. I'd like to get a bottle of Sump and pre-trade on the BA Mint.
