If by "Budweiser" you mean AB-Inbev, it is![/QUOTE]

Saying most glassware is 12 oz. is like saying most beer is Budweiser.

OK. I should have said "most good beer".

I love the 16 oz bottles that Jacks Abby and Maine Beer Co. use. I find it to be the perfect size when sharing amongst two people or consuming solo. Never too much - never too little. And it allows the price point to be in that sweet spot of $6-10 which I won't scoff at.

I like your idea for 6-8 oz of the heavier gravity beers. Just do it like Copa di vino

Anchor's Old Foghorn came in 7 oz. bottles for most of it's bottled life, up until around mid-2000s, IIRC.

Before they went to the 7's, they used actual champagne "split" bottles of 187 ml. - so, labeled at 6.3 oz.

Rogue and Flying Dog, among "craft" brewers, have also bottled in 7 oz. nips/ponies/splits...

Bomber (22 ounce) bottles cost more per ounce than 12 ounce bottles/cans from a 6-pack.

    Cheers!

The perfect format is 12 ounce bottles/cans in 6-packs.

    Cheers!

16oz is perfect for almost every beer. Only the really high, say 10% or more, alcohol beers are ideal in smaller amounts.

When I was younger, we used to be able to buy 8-packs of 7-8oz bottles of Old Vienna (which were in long-necks) and Genny (which came in stubbies). They were great for tooling along down the back roads, blasting tunes, and, perhaps, smoking a pregnant Winston. In the early 80s, deposit laws came in, and killed these off. For all their flaws, I always liked the fact that Rogue would put their big beers in small bottles. As a rule of thumb, I find 12 containers to be just right for most situations.

Agreed. Their cans are a perfect size
But their 24 oz. can is also pretty cool. It looks like a thermos.

I agree. Plus, a beer never tastes the same the second day even with a fairly air-tight stopper.

Although, I would like to see 8 oz barrel aged beers. 8 oz of Parabola, etc., is plenty for me in one sitting. Container size is the main reason I don't buy many barrel aged beers.

I really wish there were 8oz size options for some beers, in particular the bigger, heavier ones.

In general 16 oz cans...depending on the beer tho also prefer 12ozers. Down with bombers, 750s, corked and caged, and waxed (although I do have a soft spot for how a waxed beer looks)...all a gimmicky ripoff.
