Yeah, it definitely was, I picked up about a case of bombers in distro. Didn't know all the bombers sold out at brewery release though...good info. The no limit, even though they know the popularity scared me a little.

Me too but I'm hoping the influx of cash that may have accompanied the purchase of Perrin allowed them to buy a crap ton of barrels ::fingers crossed::

Me too, otherwise we are going to have to listen to all the east siders whine about how they got hardly any distro again

Yeah, this year's release will be a guaranteed shit-show, even for the bottles that hit distro. I would compare it to the second year of Hipster Brunch. First release of HB was available at the brewery for a week, and bottles even hit distro. Word got out and year 2 you had to wait in line or you didn't get any. This one will be the same.

Hoping I can get some of the fresh but my wife just took the kids to grandmas for the weekend so I can strip wallpaper and left this on the counter for me.  if I drink this by myself I'm not going to get ANYTHING done...

For what it's worth, I'm guessing there will be a decent amount of this available via distribution. The reason I say this; a few local stores were running pre-sales for it. While I typically bash one of these stores quite a bit, I was rather pleased with the pricing (actually less expensive than it's going to be at Perrin and no waiting in line).

I'm curious as to how it's going to taste compared to the last batch. I noticed all sorts of variation in the few bottles (all 22oz) that I had. One was a cinnamon bomb, another was a coconut bomb, and the 3rd bottle was a nice blend of flavors.

Still have a few bottles of the last batch as well so I can do a comparison (probably going to need some West Michigan volunteers for said comparison as that'd put me on my ass in a hurry lol). I see this release being similar to a New Holland release (in regards to Dragon's Milk Reserve) - rather limited brewery release with a larger amount hitting distro. Probably $15 or so at retail vs. $17 @ Perrin. I can definitely see a LOT of people going home from this release unhappy...

But that anger will turn to happiness when they find it at their local shop a week later for a better price (aside from kicking yourself over waiting a few hours for nothing and then coming on here to bitch about it :grinning:).

FWIW, this one hits distribution March 28th.

There are some pretty good quality craft stores in metro Detroit that did not receive a single bottle from the last batch. I totally agree with you in the sense that there will be a lot more, but I still don't think it's going to be easy to come by.

Anyone else find it a little strange that perrin won't say how many bottles for next Saturday? They've answered all other questions thus far. I'm hoping it means enough for everyone, but fearing it may not be a lot and they want a lot of people to show up.

These things are both true. Clearly you know me too well!

But I do need to give this another try.

No, it's really in their interests to not mention this. If early line goers have no idea as to how much there is, they'll suck up as much as their wallet allows. If Perrin went ahead and said they have 2x as much as last time for example, the hoarders will just stay home on the 26th, or at least hoard half as hard anyway. It will be an interesting release. If there is not much there on Saturday and folks get shut out again, Perrin will rightfully look like fools. If there is plenty to go around this time, then the early hoarders will look like fools. I hope it's the latter.

I really enjoy this beer and am travelling from the east side for the release. It is on a day I can actually make work with my schedule and I plan on arriving at about 7-8am. I plan on grabbing some for myself and hooking up some friends that can't make it. Hopefully I won't get shut out! Cheers!

I'm assuming there's an entire army of Kias heading over from the east side for this, as well as 1000 vans coming from Chicago. These combined with no limits will make for the ultimate shitstorm...

This is exactly what I was thinking. I would love to have the means to do this, just to go up there and order everything they have available and see what their immediate reaction (as well as subsequent changes to releases) would be.

The bomber bottles lasted 2-3 days during the first release before selling out. The 12oz bottles sold out in an hour (no limit).

If they run all these sales through the register at the bar, this is going to be even more of a mess. Glad I'm not going to be a part of it.
