Not disputing what you're saying. It was definitely poor planning on their part, especially given that, IMO, most of this year's Reserve beers failed to meet what were likely lofty expectations after a successful first year.

I tried my bottles of both blends on Saturday and there was not a trace of diacetyl to be found. I've been storing them fairly warm at about 75F since I heard about the possible problem. It seems to have cleared up any possible issue.

I'd be curious to hear if others have had a similar experience.

No diacetyl when I opened mine the weekend of the bottle release and none 2 weeks ago either. I store mine in a basement closet and then chill them in my fridge 15-20 minutes before opening them.
Never had any buttery notes from Crooked Stave beers before.
Now those early draft beers...wow...those had some "special" flavors, but the bottled stuff has been fine.

I opened both blends up two or three weeks ago and it appeared as if the diacetyl was almost done clearing up. The bready-ness is covering the butter (unless you have a super sensitive palate.) I think now the funkiness can start to develop and be more of the showcased flavor.

I read Blackberry Petite sour 750ml had this same issue with diacetyl when it was released, some of the later reviews showed it had cleared up, that buttery flavor.

I opened up both blends again to see how they are going. Blend 1 tasted awesome, I got some Butter in the after taste of Blend 2, but both were better then the first time I tried them.

Just cracked a blend 1 last week and had no traces of buttery flavors. Found it quite tasty, but definetly not a peach bomb. Have a blend 2 I'll try next week.

The old batch 1 is still my favorite beer from CS though.
